India has joined the global commercial launch market after successfully launching ISRO's workhorse launch vehicle PSLV-C8. Scientists from ISRO have launched nine PSLVs previous to the PSLV-C8, no mean feat and one that makes the entire country proud.
Deservingly, the ISRO scientists, after the perfect blast-off, were jubilant and broke into an impromptu celebration. PSLV-C8 is India's first fully commercial launch and marks the country's entry into the global launch business.
Incidentally, India becomes the fifth country after United States, Russia, China and France to enter the launch market.
The PSLV is a workhorse launch vehicle of ISRO. To see ISRO's track record, consider the nine successful consecutive flights they have launched till now since the first launch which happened back in 1994.
Who would have thought at that time that India would one day enter the global commercial launch market? And there's more: ISRO will also launch India's first mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-1, in 2008. India is going to put a man on the moon, indigenously.
Mods ... pls don't close this topic atleast for today... lets join n enjoy the celebrations😊
