Yashovarman of Kannauj

One king who succeeded in outflanking and finally routing the Hunas was King Yashovarman of Kannauj. Tired of the barbaric behaviour of the Hunas, he joined forces with the Gupta Emperor Baladitya and formed a Pan-Hindu alliance to fight the aggressor. Mihirakula the leader of the Hunas, whose head had till then never bowed in defeat, was challenged by Yashovarman and was decisively defeated. Mihirakula was also captured alive by Yashovarman and presented as a prisoner before the Gupta Emperor Baladitya. But instead of punishing the prisoner; Baladitya following the age honoured traditions of Hindu Culture, pardoned the aggressor and released him with the only condition that he should leave the country never to return. Mihirakula was shrewd to accept this condition, and he did leave, but only to return as an aggressor once again. But this time he was not only defeated but was also slayed by Yashovarman. But after Yashovarman's passing away, the Huns, although weakened, continued their destructive raids into Northern India.

But it is significant here to note that the actions of the Hindu Emperor Baladitya of pardoning the aggressor and of the Huna aggressor Mihirakula of attacking his benefactor once again, were repeated five hundred years later in the year 1191 C.E. This happened when the last Hindu king of Delhi, Prithviraja Cahamana (Chouhan) defeated the Muslim aggressor Mohammed Ghauri (or Ghori) and honorably released him. The fiendish aggressor, returned this time too. Ghauri regrouped his forces and attacked Prithviraj not only to defeat him but also to murder him after capture. The only difference this time was that there was no king like Yashovarman to save India once again. There was no Indian king who had a realistic assessment of the enemy facing the country, and so India had to pay the price of losing its sovereignty to the Muslim Invaders for 700 years thereafter (more of this later).

i hope you all get it
