the habit of using the terminology of "ham" and addressing even your own child as "aap" is common in a few sectors of India. even people who come from the state of UP must be familiar with this kind of hindi. 😊

Hmmmmm I think in north India everywhere this 'hum' is used and in south India specially in mumbai people speak hindi-marathi mix......... mereko, tereko, mujhe.

I m too not used to with this word 'Hum', when i say this i get a feeling that i m some rajkumari or something.😆 So I never use it. Its very hi-fi hindi for me. Also no one around me says hum.

Since........I am a Punjabi...Hum word is no where near me..............but yea in school....we used to be taught to speak the word "Hum" instead "main"........and i spoke it for some yrs then just forgot it coz i hardly speak Hindi at home.....
