Jakhrayu-Prithvi-Sanyogita

I jus saw the programme "Kaun Hai" on Star News..thanks to 'lemoncola' for informing.

They talked of Prithviraj's senapati 'Jakhrayu'. They said that wen Prithvi eloped with Sanyo..Jaichand declared a war against him. In this war Jakhrayu fought with Pritvhi.

Prithvi's army cud not match to Jaichand army...and so Jskhrayu suggested that Prithvi shud leave battlefield along with Sanyo.

He persuaded Prithvi, who dint want to leave his army alone, by separating his head from his body using his sword. He then gave his head to Prithvi...asked him to leave the battlefield along with Sanyo n told him not to keep his head on the ground coz that wud lead to his death.

Well, i hv never heard of him...this was the first time i heard such a story..

Did anyone else to see it? Does anyone know abt this?

Hey Medha, I just created a post on the same topic. This was the first I heard on Jakhrayu.. Nothing on the net on him either..

i really don't believe dis story...how can Sanyogita be like dis...."maharaj ek haath mein aap ke paas kisi ka kataa hua sir hai aur mein dusre haath se paani kaise pee sakti hu??"
n dere is no mention abt dis Jhakrai dude anywhere....
i don't agree to it!!!

Star News also mentioned that wen Prithvi n Sanyo were on their way...Sanyo felt thirsty.

Prithvi was carrying Jskhrayu's head in one hand so offered water to Sanyo with the other.

To my surprise...Sanyo refused to drink water with one hand. And asked Prithvi to keep Jakhrayu's head down on the ground.

Prithvi, though unwillingly, agreed.

And thus, the 'tilasmi' Jakhrayu died while fighting in the battlefield.

Sad isnt it? Such a hero had to die coz of Sanyo's unusual demand..that too wen he was fighting for her love...to protect Prithvi-Sanyo..for the sake of their love.

This is Magical Realism and its only used in literature...only good in books, not in reality...
I serioulsly dont believe this...and plus its the news and I lost my faith in the media many years ago...so no I wont believe it esp. if it comes from the media! 😡

Jakhrayu died in the 12th century but he is still revered at some place..i forgot the name...

At Kannauj, Ferozpur..or something..ppl pay a tax😲 in the fear that he'll come back n take revenge. That started jus after Jakhrayu's death wen everyone in Kannauj n the neighbourign areas started keeping unwell.

Cant believe such a thing is still prevalent at some places...even after 800 years...

i saw the whole program. this story is so unrealistic. i don't believe sn inch of it.

Such superstitions are not good...esp. in an advanced society...and I dont believe a word of this news story...the media got it all wrong...and the people who believe in such stories about Jakhrayu are just decieveing themselves!
