Chanakya was Chandragupt Maurya's guru/minister. He was very intelligent.
No doubt, Chandragupt himself was brave and intelligent. But, on reading about Chanakya and Chandragupt, we find that Chanakya had a major hand in making Chandragupt Maurya such a great emperor.
Wish Prithviraj Chauhan also had somebody like Chanakya to guide him.

have u read arthashastra... what tips have been given in that book... spies, covert warfare... even biological warfares have been descibed

I really admire chanaykya. Hav u read his quotes ? They are applicable even today.. GREAT MAN 👏

buvana... it is not only applicable today.. but it is applied today... RAW has been followng it for so many yrs now😉

national secrets beta(not that it cannot be found on net😉)....but we indians have such a goody goody image in this world n on IF.. that if i start talking abt raw, v'll loose that image..

Yes, I agree that Chanakya recommended many things, which may not be found to be ethical by some people. Please note: I am using the words "some people" because opinions vary. If one king follows some rules, it is not necessary for the other to do the same.
Irrespective of whether we like Chanakya's policies or not, the fact remains that he had a great hand in making Chandragupt such a successful king.
So far spies are concerned, it was a good thing. Because of spies, Chanakya could know the plans of Chandragupt Maurya's enemies.
