Chittorgarh is vary famous however has ben a sad place in history... In early days, Chittor was a rajput stronghold as Kumbha Rana of Chittore had defeated Sultan of Delhi and erected a Big nine storey tower which you can also see in the picture here above called as (Vijay Stambh - vitory tower). However after Kumbha's time things were not the same. Chittore was attacked by islamic infidels for rajput beauties such as khilji for Padmini and some other infiodel for Rani karnavati... Both these rani had commited largest JAUHAR...

Later came Rana Sanga who invited BABUR for delhi and ended up fighting against him and lost against babur establishing moghul sutanat in india...

Later came Maharana Pratap in Akbar's time who had to give up Chittore and settle in jungle due to infidel AKBAR and kapati maansingh..... It is said that successors of Marana Pratap still, after independence, do not live in towns and prefers to stay out of town as in jungle like area and do not sleep on bed and sleep on floor due to Pratap's Pratijna of that he will not sleep on bed untill he frees chittore from muslim infidels which he was not able to do so....

hence chittore has a key place in history of india....
