Hai guys....I know that you people are wondering about this....when I heard about this....even my condition was the same.Lets move into the news...........please do read completely.
The Battles of Tarain.............after consolidating his position in Sindh and Punjab, inm 1191,Muizuddin attacked and captured the fortress of Tabarhinda which was strategically important for the defence of Delhi.Realising its importance and without giving the time to Turks,PRC marched immediately marched towards Tabarhinda. In the battle PRC attained a complete victory.Muiziddin being saved, according toa comtemperory account by a Khalji horse man who carried the wounded Sultan to safety. After his Victoy PRC didnot try to pursue the dispirited Ghori's army.....either because he didnot want to venture into hostile terrotory far away from his base or because he thought that like Ghazauavids the Ghoris too would be satisfied to rule over the Punjab. Thus he treated the siege of Tabarhinda only as a frontier fight and satisfied with capturing it after a siege of a few months.
That PRC treated the struggle with Muizuddin as only a frontier fight ...and is strengthed by the fact that after his victory he made little preparations for a future contestwith the Ghori chief.Prithviraj Raso accuses that PRC of neglecting the affairs of the stare and of being busy merry making. This may not be true but there is a little doubt that he seriously underestimated the danger from the side of the Ghoris....
The second battle of Tarain in 1192 is regarded rightly as one of the turning points in Indian History.Muiziddin had made careful preparations for the contest disgracing many armies who had not stood firm in the field of battle earlier. It is difficult to form a precise estiuate of the forces on the two sides.According to the information of ht econtemporary chronicler,Miuhaj Siraj, the army of Muizuddin had 1,20,000 men fully equipped with steel coats and armour. The 17th century historian Ferishta places PRC forces at 3,000 elephants.3,00,000 horse men and consederable infantary. These figures appear to be grossly exaggerated perhaps to emphasises the challenge faced my Muizuddin and the scale of his victory .However we may conclude that the forces fielded by PRC were larger thatn those brought to the field by his opponent.Ferishta also states that on a appeal from PRC,all the leading Rias Of Hind joined his armies. That too appears doubtful.Ad we have seen PRC has aleiuated all his powerful neighbours by his militaristic policies.Nor does Ferishta named any of the prominent Rais.Perhaps PRC forces includes many of his feudatories including Govindraj, the ruler of Delhi. This was a source of weakness rather than strength because these feudal armies lacked any central direction or leadership unlike the armies of Muizuddin
The battle of Tarain ws more a war of movement than the position. The lightly armed mounted arched od Muiziddin kept harassing the slow moving forces of PRC and attacked from all the sides.Whrn they had created confusion in his men.PRC suffered a complete defeat and fled but was pursued and caught near Sarsuti or Modren Sirsa in Hissar district. The historians Muihaj Siraj says that he was executed immediately. But according to another contemporary writer,Hasan Nizawi,he was taken to Ajmer and allowed to rule. This was supported by Nizawi's evidence showing coins of PRC with the words "SRI MUHAMMMAD SAW" on te reverse. He rebelled after sometime and was executed to an a charge of treson. His son succeded himand continued to rule for sometime as a feudatory.Hence ther is no truth in the story that PRC was taken to Afghanisthan.............
