I was just wondering how much can one sacrifice for a sister. Would you go to same extent as Mona marry a wrong guy or will you raise up your voice even if it disturbs your sister's marital life.

i dont have any sister...so no idea...but if I was in her case I would have atleast shared my feelings to someone sensible...for her case, she can talk with gurnam. I also feel sweetie has some bit of role to play...can't she see the sadness in her sister? she shud show bit responsible than full selfishness

It's her cousin, not her sister.

But I would tell my own parents at least, if I was in her situation.

I don't think my parents would make me marry an abusive person just to pacify the inlaws.

In fact, Sweety's rishta is not conditional upon Mona's if that's the inlaws take on it.. I would think a normal person would and parent would consider Divorce for their child--especially if Sweety is pregnant. I guess they could always get an abortion.

But then they are not going to show that in the Serial. I don't think Girls get sacrificied that much in Reality. In Serials, they show all kinds of abuse.

thx for replying guys. I know who goes thru this much that too for a cousin sister, but in there case both have grown up together in a peaceful and loving manner shouldn't Sweety be able to sense and see Mona's sadness. Definitely, Mona should talk to her mother and father together to get out of this mess.

mona and sweety have been raised as sisters so from Mona's perspective it is a hard decision to make: on one hand she doesnt like goldie but her marriage to him will secure her sister's marital life and on the other hand if she breaks off her marriage to goldie, sweety's marriage will be in deep wters as has been seen already on the day of the engagement and now sweety is pregnant....it would be hard for any sister to be able to decide what to do in such a situation

Happiness is a very selfish thing and I can say honestly I would not sacrifice my happiness for anyone. The show's scenario is a stretch for me because I am and will always be able to chose who I date and eventually marry. I think its a cultural difference.

I can't understand why Mona is under such an intense pressure to do something that she does not want to do. Sweetie and her family are being very blind and selfish towards Mona in using her as a means to secure Sweetie's place in her new family. I hope Mona will speak up for her equal rights and justice.
