Sajjan lept to his feet, staring at the TV…he was in the middle of a call with a client on a new land in the heart of the city……………sure he would have to demolish a building or two, but the project looked promising……… his eyes narrowed in confusion as he looked at Pratap...Pratap stared at the TV in disbelief …………. If he heard right n saw right his wife had made the most rightful decision ever…….. he looked at Sajjan , his face happy…only for a moment, when his brain slowly started to grasp the fact that the two lives r at stake here………….. he knew Krishna enough to know who he thought of women n marriage …… n he also knew that he could be so mean n cruel that the poor girl would wish she was better off dead……………n the girl! Oh God! What was gayatri thinking? He thought , his face grave ………… the girl's life will be ruined…………. Forever fated to live like a slave ….. either mistress or wife , the status is the same………….. or worse ………. Just like a mere object ……… used n thrown away as he sees fit …………. Or discarded like a furniture in some dark corner of a room, just like his mother! ……. ……………..No! he wondered why he was feeling bad for the girl…………. Like she were his daughter! N he was also feeling bad for Krishna …………. He don't want him to be a monster ……he wasn't going to like how he gets his wish n he will make sure he has his way with things ….
'What is didi thinking?' Sajjan exclaimed , confused n angry still staring at the TV which was now showing the reporters getting up excitedly n forming a circle near Gayatri…………. He turned off the TV , his face hard 'oh Krishna is going to be livid' he muttered to himself ……………… slowly his shocked brain supplied him more n more details ……………. His sister had announced to the world that his son's engagement with that worm's daughter ! n on that evening itself ! ……………….. That dog Shailendra ! going to be his samdhi! ……….. that traitor ! the enemy ! ………….. what the hell did didi think she was doing?! He snarled in anger …………. Oh no! what will he tell to chief minister ?! the files , damn ! …………. N sure enough his phone was ringing ……………….. Sajjan threw an angry look at Pratap as he attended the phone 'yes, Minister?' he sighed into the phone …………….. he listened intently as the chief minister registered his shock at the new development ………….. Sajjan listened patiently ………'I don't know what to say friend , I don't know what didi was thinking………. I will talk to her n get back to u……..n don't worry about the files …. The files will be used as per our plan ……..' he cut the phone , his face angry …………… Pratap said , his face grave ' I don't understand Gayatri'…………….
Sajjan sat down heavily... What was didi thinking! That she would get the girl married to him to stop him from taking her forcefully so that the society keeps quiet! …didn't she know Krishna? Or did she do it to save his face?... the girl was definitely going to throw a great deal of dirt at him! Yes! That would be like it! ….. there must be some explanation to this insanity! sajjan cursed loudly …..'why did didi take such a decision without consulting me or Krishna?' he asked , rounding on pratap………….. Pratap shrugged 'I don't know…..i think we will have to ask her…..'

Inside the conference hall, there was a stunned , shocked silence …….only for a sec……. The media erupted in various degrees of reaction…………. The cameras flashed endlessly as many reporters scrambled from their seats to run in the directions of GD , Krishna , Pratigya n Shailendra …. Shocked n angry beyond anything, krishna's eyes met Pratigya's shocked ones…… a muscle in his jaw pulsed , his fists clenching……….. Krishna turned on his heel n walked back towards the exit ……………. While chandu tried to stop the reporters from getting to him, his own mind reeling in shock n confusion………….. Krishna continued walking , out of the building , climbed his rover n sped up…………. He was trembling in anger n he didn't trust himself to be around people ………..he might take his anger out on them…………..instead he pressed down his feet on the accelerator …………. His mind exploded with questions , through the dense fog of anger ……what has happened just now?……..why did ma sahib say such a thing in front of the whole world? ….engagement ? marriage ? his knuckles turned white over the steering …… his mind reeled back to the heated argument they had last evening …….something about bringing the girl, the defense minister's daughter, by marriage n not as his mistress as that would attract trouble ….. what was she thinking? That he would care if he had to force the minister to get what he wants ? society n media be damned….he would have that girl ……… ! no matter what! ……….is this the solution she came up with? So that their family 'honor' will remain intact? Who the hell did she think she is to interfere with his wishes? He would have the girl in any way he wants! Who is she to interfere? ! well, she is going to answer him!

Sakthi was cursing just as Durjjan's eyes met his……………. He fought his way through the crowd to Durjjan……….. 'what is that old hag saying?' he hissed at durjjan as durjjan gazed at GD in anger ……………. "I don't know, but I think that woman is upto no good………' he said , his eyes slits ………. 'There's no way that chic is going to his bed…………..I want her' Sakthi pouted angrily ….'shh….shut up sakthi… Go to home……I will see u there……..I need to find out what's on her mind' snarled durjjan …………'But …' Sakthi began to protest , but nodded his head meekly as he encountered his father's angry eyes …………….

Inside the hall, Pratigya stood transfixed to the spot ….her feet felt like made of lead…… her head spun as she saw through a haze people shouting questions at her , their equipments n mics thrusting towards her………. She wasn't hearing anything …………. She could see GD telling something to her , smiling at her n she looked down to see that she had her hand held in hers…….. she looked up confused , trying to free her hands from the woman…………… she met chandu's confused n shocked gaze n she looked around for him………..he was nowhere to be seen…………..

Chandu looked around the front of the building just in time to see Krishna speeding up his rover………… the way it tuned viciously narrowly missing the gate made Chandu feel uneasy ……Krishna was beyond livid… he looked back at the hall, his eyes searching for Pratigya……… n gayatri…………. Why did Ma sahib say such a thing? He wondered……he turned n walked out of the building…… did she see what he saw too?…… No! if she saw what he saw in krishna's eyes she would be devising all kinds of plans to keep Pratigya as far away from him as possible, thought Chandu as he climbed his benz………. There was something sinister going on in her mind……n Pratigya! What would she be thinking about all these?….. but he had no time to find out ……… I must find Krishna ! he thought as he sped in the general direction Krishna went ………

Pratigya saw the defense minister trying to smile at the camera's as Bakshi was shouting something to the media……… she blinked as she felt a poke on her elbow n looked at GD……. 'answer them' GD hissed through her teeth, smiling at her………. 'what?' Pratigya asked , not knowing what she was telling ….. she looked at the reporter who pressed the question 'is this arrangement of engagement bec he raped u n u want to hush it up? Or bec u laid down for him willingly n now u don't want that to come n bite u later?' ….. the question pierced her through the din n haze surrounding her mind n her face filled with anger 'No! enough! He didn't rape me ………..! n neither is……' Pratigya began heatedly….. enough of this nonsense ……….Gayatri cut her short , laughing 'see, u got ur answer ' pulling pratigya through the reporters , flailing them by her hands ….'now, pls excuse us ……we have an engagement to host n the bride needs to be ready……….' 'what!...' Pratigya began , but she stopped as she saw defense minister stepped in front of them, as bakshi send away all the reporters , the guards jostling them out of the building …………….'Pratigya! go to ur house ….Now….! rocky , take her to My residence immediately ………' he said to the bodyguard through gritted teeth, his eyes on GD………… 'But….'Pratigya said, wanting to know what is going on…………any explanation to this insanity….. 'why don't u go home n see if ur mother is alright?' drawled durjjan, as Shailendra stared at her angrily ………… 'I mean after all this she may be feeling uneasy….' Said durjjan , his eyes boring into Pratigya's ………..Pratigya gasped , dread filling her……suddenly she only wanted to see her mother…..she glanced at GD , before turning n going with her bodyguard …………
'what the hell do u think u r doing?' snarled Shailendra the moment Pratigya was out of the building …. GD looked calm as she said 'well, I have a proposition to make ………..we, that is to say, Krishna have something u want the most , the files ……n u have something he wants the most , for now……. Ur daughter ! ' she said smiling slyly at Shailendra ……………..Shailendra looked deranged 'what r u ….?' But Durjjan cut across him ….. 'shall we discuss this in a room?' he asked , his face liting up in an evil smirk………….. GD smiled broadly , while Shailendra looked at durjjan incredulously…… Bakshi opened the door to an adjacent room n they stepped in closing the door behind them…………. 'I am giving u an opportunity to escape the humiliation of sending ur daughter as a mere mistress to my nephew's bed in front of the whole world n also to save ur sorry behind by getting back the files n instead of appreciating my efforts u r shouting at me! Really , Shailendra ! ' said GD, scoffing ………. Shailendra looked angry 'oh…so this is ur ingenuous plan!...' he started laughing ……… 'I am the defense minister of this state ……………..I have full police force behind me ………… ur bas***d of a nephew can't even dream of doing anything against me…………let alone get my daughter as his mistress! N as for the files , he would place them at my legs once my daughter accuses him of rape ! he will have no other go! ' ……………
It was GD's turn to laugh ………'oh, Mr. defense minister ! U don't know my nephew ! ………….for him u r not the defense minister …………. U r just an irritating obstacle standing in way of him n what he wants… ….or his obsession, in this case ….n he would just swipe u off to have what he wants …………… if u r lucky , u will die with just a bullet on head ……….. n trust me, no one will be any wiser to know what exactly happened with u ……….. u might have shot urself accidently with ur private gun! ………….n whom r u kidding, Mr. defense minister?' she continued mockingly 'u r alive till now only bec the party wants u to be alive so that they can disgrace u when they reveal the files to the public…………. I heard Sajjan talking to the MP …… if the party decides otherwise , Sajjan will have u killed in mere minutes……….. so either way u r dead ! if u r clever , u will grab this opportunity n live a little bit long …………..n buy time to get back the files ' Shailendra looked back at her , his mouth opening n closing for a few secs feeling mortified n angry …………… he looked around at bakshi n durjjan who shrugged n nodded at him ……………. 'what is ur plan?' he asked through gritted teeth ………….. gayatri smiled while durjjan said 'I thought that was obvious , Shailendra., send ur daughter to him n get the files…………' Shailendra looked at durjjan 'why would he trade the files with Pratigya……….? Surely he….' 'oh no …not trading …. ….. she will have access to his room if she is his wife , although her status would be nothing more than a mistress … I believe ur daughter will be up for the job? ' asked Gayatri , sneering ………. 'oh u don't know my precious daughter then ma sahib…..' laughed shailendra ………… 'she is an arrogant bitch who thinks that men r the vilest creatures on earth n thinks that they r beneath women………. She hates men…………. N all things wrong…. As she sees them……she believes in all those right/wrong bullshit n thinks that all criminals r to be brought in front of the law……….'
gayatri looked shocked …… from the words of Shailendra she could see that there is no bond between the father n daughter n worse the girl isn't what she thought to be…. She had thought that Pratigya would be as manipulating n bad as her father ……………… ready to do anything for money n power……then she remembered the incident with madhuri's injury…. Oh how could she let herself to forget that? …….u must be relieved Gayatri, she told herself ….u can't have asked anything better , if she was a shrewd n cunning girl , u will be hard pressed to get her out of Krishna's room n life once this is over…...'what?' she gasped …..'then how come she is with u in this ridiculous circus of urs?' 'we have means to persuade her ' smirked durjjan , meeting Shailendra's eyes……………. 'well, then use that means to get her to do the work……….. u seem to already use her for ur political games , I can see….. so use her wisely this time to save ur career n life ……….' Said gayatri , looking at Shailendra……….. 'ofcourse I plan to use her in my political games…. Today was supposed to be the first step of it………… I was going to announce her as my party youth secretary n then announce her engagement with durjjan's son here, sakthi…………but that kidnap spoiled everything! But then we thought this up to get back the files………. N u have to spoil our plan! …. When u can't bring us the files to save ur nephew from public disgrace u thought to seek our help , thwarting our plans ofcourse………….!' Shouted shailendra , angry………………
'welll, u will have to forget that plan of urs……..n look closely Mr. defense minister ! its u who want help….not us……. u want that file or else u r finished ………. ' said Gayatri heatedly…………..durjjan interrupted them 'lets move on with the plan , please….. .i guess both of us could find something to help us in it………..' 'there is not much to discuss……..' snapped gayatri 'send ur daughter as his wife n get access to the files ……… use whatever means u said to make ur daughter behave the way we wants her to…..' 'Ma sahib…..don't forget that u r in danger too……….. I could just ask my father's driver to reveal himself n all the dark secrets to either sajjan or Krishna n u r dead…….. so don't give orders here……… we both want each other's help ' warned Durjjan, his voice rising …………. Gayatri looked angrily at Durjjan but didn't say anything , but she looked scared too…………'n Gayatri ji, I refuse to believe that u r eager to help us or u want to save ur neck n that's why u r cooking this plan up……there's more to it………….. what is it , exactly? Unless u explain it completely , we r not going out of this room…..' said Durjjan , his eyes boring into hers…….. gayatri hissed , her face twisted in anger n hatred ………'its her! His daughter! ' she shouted , indicating Shailendra………….'I don't know what black magic she did to Krishna , but he can't seem to think of anything else unless he had her …………n its not just lust!... I have never seen him wanting a particular girl!... its like an obsession ! …… n I want him to get over it asasp……… use her for his pleasure now when its just an obsession before it turns into something dangerous! ……… n throw her away…I know him….. he loses interest in every new thing in a matter of minutes…. But here, with ur daughter , I have a feeling that she could last a little bit more……n before he decides to throw her to a corner ur daughter must get the files for u….. could she do that? 'gayatri asked , his eyes darting from Durjjan to Shailendra………….
Durjjan looked at Shailendra who was staring at Gayatri in anger…………. 'ofcourse , she could do that ….' Nodded durjjan …. 'but u see Gayatri ji , we had already made our plan to make her Party youth secretary n my son to marry her so that we could enter into active politics …… if Pratigya will become his 'wife' , then how will our plan work?' 'oh, come on Durjjan…. U can enter politics only if him n u can keep out of jail! ' snapped Gayatri 'u just can't make another move forward without those files………… ur priority now is the files …n my priority now is my safety as u promised once I give u the files n ofcourse rescuing our families from the scandal if Krishna were to take the girl as his mistress……..rather than wife… n ofcourse by giving him what he wants our way , rather than letting him take her his way, we r sending her on our terms rather than him taking her on his terms, so that we have control over the situation , not them!….' she looked at Durjjan n Shailendra , expectantly ………….Shailendra looked at Durjjan , nodding , before he said, his eyes slits on Gayatri ….'Ok, but there is a major glitch in this plan…. What if she gets caught?' Gayatri tried to look neutral …'well, that's up to ur daughter …..to convince him…serve him the way he wants….. the way we want, actually ….n get u the files……' she said , smiling ………….. 'oh no! u misunderstood me Ma Sahib….'Said Shailendra , looking not at all amused 'what I meant was , what would happen to her if she gets caught after she gives the files …surely he will find out what must have happened n who must have done it?'
'well…..' Gayatri cleared her throat …'u will get ur files , ur ticket to Chief minister's Chair …That's the thing u wanted the most , isn't it? That's why u have been carefully planning to use her to get more public acceptance….well, u will have to make a gamble here ……ur daughter or the files …..! . erm… he won't kill her……… I know him… he is so like his father! He will give her hell….! But won't kill her!...let her take the burn …..!. use her wisely n get what u need most now, the files ……….. rather than gambling her with the party youth secretary position…. N well, Durjjan can always enter active politics once the files r secured …….or may be any of his sons could ……' she said , her tone strong as now she could see the men thinking it through……………..
Shailendra paced away from gayatri, nodding slightly at durjjan …………… once he becomes the chief minister he wouldn't be needing his pathetic wife or daughter anymore………. May be the wife should be kept alive ….. so that his image stays ……..he thought savagely ….. he could sacrifice Pratigya for the files, of course …… he turned to durjjan …..'is it alright with u , durjjan?' he asked him…. Durjjan sighed , his eyes on Gayatri ….' Ofcourse, anything for the files ……… n may be' he smirked evilly at Gayatri … 'may be we could persuade her to do more than just get the files for us….. kill Mr. KST for us , for instance…..' Gayatri smiled back , just as evilly………….
