The men in the jeep fired at the rover , the bullets not really damaging the thick metal…………. Gayatri looked horrified n madhuri ready to pass out as Pratigya , although fearful, didn't show her fear………. Krishna braked the rover , turning it sharply to face the jeep , as Chandu fired a two well aimed bullets at the jeep, one killing the driver n the other killing a tyre……………….. the jeep lost balance even as one of the men sitting at the front tried to steady it n crashed to the nearby tree……… another jeep blast through the opposite side of the rover , firing away…………. N this time the glass broke , n one bullet hit madhuri on her right shoulder, just as Krishna pulled out his gun n fired at the driver , making them loose balance………………..
Krishna got out, cursing , as madhuri screamed, pratigya holding her bleeding form , fear n concern in her face………Gayatri , cursing , phoned angad to send their men , not even looking at madhuri, but gnashing her teeth in anger n frustration that now she is useless ……. Krishna n Chandu moved towards the jeeps , their guns raised as the fallen n wounded men got up , groping for their weapons ………………. Krishna was quick , stamping down their leader (the one who phoned sakthi) n pointing his gun at him , as he said to others 'weapons down or he is dead!' Chandu said to the man 'tell ur men to discard their weapons or u will be dead……………. We don't want to kill un-necessarily ………… ' but many didn't actually obey n Krishna pulled the man up , his gun against his temple n said , his voice a cold whisper 'I am choosing not to kill ………………….. n give u a chance ………….. if u r not a fool, u may want to take it…………….. tell me who send u?' The man looked into Krishna's piercing eyes n found that he was forced to obey, as his hands indicated his cronies to put down their weapons ……………..
'good ' Krishna released the man , still pointing the gun at him , but loosely …….'Who send u?' he asked , his eyes on Pratigya , unknowingly checking if she was hurt …………. 'Sakthi …….' The man said, looking down…………. Krishna snarled in anger, as Chandu shook his head , resignedly …………. 'call him!' Krishna ordered , tightening his grip on the gun……………. The man looked fearful ……….'I will talk ……… call him' Krishna said , trying to sound soft………….. the man fumbled with the phone n dialed sakthi's number n gave the phone to krishna…………..'ha! is he dead? Is he dead?' Sakthi asked enthusiastically, durjjan n shailendra listening intently , holding their breath ………………. Krishna chuckled into the phone , n Sakthi's face lost all color ……….. Shailendra n durjjan looked at each other shocked...
'tsk…tsk….really sakthi , I thought u were not downright coward ………… u proved me wrong ! I am heart broken……….. ' Krishna said mockingly…………Sakthi gritted his teeth… 'n mr defense minister!' said Krishna his tone icy cold, his face away from Pratigya , who was trying to pacify madhuri 'I think u r waiting for ur daughter to be served at Royal…………. U r going to get ur wish, tonight!...' 'no…no!...' Shailendra shouted into the phone……….'pls…… I will do anything……I am sorry…pls forgive me………pls….' as durjjan glared at sakthi…………. 'so listen carefully………….I want Sharma's daughter at her home before tmw morning…………….. unscathed ……once I get the news that she reached her home, I will send ur daughter to u…….. if she doesn't reach there by morning , ur daughter is going to suffer…………..' Krishna cut the phone, throwing it to the man n waving his gun at them, indicating to go away……………… they retreated, helping the wounded men n carrying the dead bodies of their drivers , as Chandu monitored their moves…………….
Krishna walked back to the rover, his face angry …... Pratigya , seeing him coming , sighed in relief , his usual careless attitude calming her down, why she don't know………..madhuri was fainting in her arms, as Gayatri fussed about a gnash in her hand , due to broken glass……….. 'we need to get her to hospital soon' Pratigya said directly to Krishna , mistaking his look of angry concern completely ………..'oh they spoiled my Rover…! ' Krishna gritted his teeth , his eyes looking , not at madhuri, but at the blood streaks all over the seats n door…………… Pratigya gaped at him in horror……………'What…what r u saying…she is dying…..!' shouted pratigya, clutching at madhuri…………. krishna wasn't listening as Angad n his men came, n krishna turned to them, trying his level best to ignore Pratigya …………gayatri sighed in relief exhibiting her injured arm to angad , who came rushing to her side ……..'oh look son, I got injured……' pratigya looked horrified at gayatri n then at krishna , nobody seemed least bothered about madhuri……….
krishna said , as Chandu came back after seeing that sakthi's men went away……. 'Ok ..we will go in one of these cars……….. Chandu , bring the girl ! n ma sahib, u can go with angad , the estate is nearer ……………' gayatri , glancing at pratigya , tried to think of some plan to stick to krishna………….Chandu looked inside the Rover to see madhuri bleeding like hell n Pratigya glaring at krishna as though she will slap him……….. 'oh, no….she got shot ……we could….' Chandu began but krishna cut him short 'I don't want to waste time here in the middle of the road , chandu ……she looks like she will die soon………. We r taking the girl n going to the mansion ………. Get …….' 'I am not moving an inch from here until this girl is hospitalized! ' shouted Pratigya , her eyes on krishna's back, angry ……………… a stunning silence followed , while gayatri looked at Pratigya her eyebrows knitting in apprehension ………….
Krishna forced himself to look at pratigya n smirked coldly 'oh no……… I think then I will have to make u come with me………..' 'u can do whatever u want……….. n I will do what I feels like right……how could u let a human die, just like that! when u urself let go off that man just a moment ago………n she is ur'…she struggled for a moment to utter the word ' mistress ! …don't u care?… I will not move from here, be it on my life, until this girl is hospitalized………..! ' said pratigya, her tone ringing with finality , looking directly in his eyes………….. 'that's it ! she is just a mistress……….! A slave ! an object ! why would I care? ' krishna said, snarling …………… this girl is riling him up , krishna thought , meeting her angry n disgusted gaze …………Ok why the hell is she looking at him as if he were a monster , thought krishna , surprised by the emotion in her eyes………….things get broken, injured, destroyed , why would he care? ……….
Pratigya looked at him in contempt 'Yesterday at Royal, when u were talking of wanting ur servant's body back , I thought u were human!...but now what happened? ' she asked, her eyes flaring………… Krishna hissed 'that's my servant ……….. my loyal servant………. His family would want to give him a proper funeral………… but this ' he said indicating madhuri 'is just a … a thing…..' he said , for want of a better word…………Pratigya blinked , anger building inside her 'so! U find women as mere 'things' as u call them!... wonder what would u do if it was ur mother who 'spoiled' ur fav car……….if u have a mother , that is, which I don't think is possible………. ' ….. Pratigya found that she was letting out all her frustration about the sinful effects he was causing her n his kidnapping of her, not letting her talk to her mother n not just merely angry about the girl's precarious situation …………. But she knew from krishna's look that may be she had gone too far……… n she saw pain in his eyes for a sec , before they filled with pure rage…..…...
a chill passed down her spine as Krishna ,snarling , pulled her with one hand out of the Rover , his other hand pressing his gun up the underside of her chin, his face livid , their bodies flush against each other, her hands clutching at his shoulder, their eyes locked ...Chandu was looking aghast at krishna n pratigya ……….. krishna, for the first time in his life was talking to a girl……….! Whatever they were talking , arguing ……………. But talking all the same………… n this girl! No man has the guts to talk back to krishna n she has done it ………… again n again!... but he had an odd feeling that they didn't seem to realize that they weren't alone…………… it was as though they were alone n having a heated argument , just a normal argument…………but then Pratigya had to mention his mother, again!……. Krishna, his eyes flaming in rage , pressed the gun more into her , as he hissed 'one more word…………. ! n I will forget that u r a hostage……….! ' Pratigya moaned in pain , her eyes fearful n still angry , but the intensity of her anger was far less now………
Chandu rushed forward , pulling at krishna's hand, as he implored , worried 'pls krishna…………leave her………. Calm down……pls…...' Krishna pushed Pratigya away from him , cursing ………..…..Chandu looked at madhuri , feeling pity of the girl ……………… 'I think she is right , krishna………….. madhuri needs urgent treatment ……….we should take….' 'ok………. Ma sahib, u brought that , take care of her or whatever!' krishna said , his voice different , eyes still locked to pratigya's fierce stare……………. She is going to pay for her behavior ……….. she is going to pay for making him obey her! ………she was going to pay for reminding him of his misfortune ! …. Pratigya looked as though she would want to continue riling him up , take her anger n frustration on him , but helped madhuri onto a sitting position in the rover, not meeting krishna's eyes…………. Gayatri , came out of the deep shock into which she went , as she watched Krishna n the girl having a war of words…………….. she tried to talk , but no sound came , her eyes slits on pratigya………..
'Chandu, bring the girl !' Krishna said through gritted teeth , as he got into a car…………… Chandu helped Pratigya to stem the flow of blood n nodded at gayatri , as Pratigya got out of the rover, whispering to madhuri 'don't worry , u will be alright……………..' 'angad, take ur mother n this girl to hospital…………. They need medical aid, especially her, asap ' Chandu said to angad, indicating madhuri……………. 'n make sure that she lives' added Chandu as he indicated Pratigya to climb the new car…………. Angad nodded , trying to mask his anger…………… Krishna's jaw clenched as he watched Pratigya climb in at the back, not meeting his glare ……………
Pratigya found it easier to talk to him when she was angry as her anger would give her courage to look him in eye………… she chanced a glance at him , still angry n astonished at his way of treating women……… she had noticed that the talk about his mother completely rattled him ……n she found that Chandu took almost loving care to calm him down………..… she wondered how he treats his mother or whether he has a mother……………n she felt a bit bad for talking about his mother like that……… Chandu , sighing, got to the front, his eyes on both……………. They drove in absolute silence ………………. Chandu could actually feel the tension between them n felt odd at the vibes generating from them …………….. there was anger n frustration , he could feel………….. but there was also an unknown undercurrent of strong emotion which he couldn't quite place ……………..
