You're right they did start out with unique characters and kept changing their minds on how to write the character.
I don't blame the CV's fully for the ending and the decline of MKAP, but SP is at fault too. I feel some of the storylines that the CV's wanted to portray were shot down by SP, the reason I say this is I remember the show Tere Liye (I never watched) ended because their were creative differences between Ekta Kapoor and SP. It leads me to believe that SP was involved with the storytelling to some extent and maybe also had asked that certain tracks not be shown at the moment, still the CV's are to blame for not writing a well thought out and intriguing script.
Also I think most of the tracks were about social issues and you never really got to see some enjoyable scenes and if you did they ended it with showing some other social issue right away. For example after Kriya SR, instead of showing Kesar getting beaten up by KN, why not show Kriya enjoying their new found love for each other and after a few days or week then continue the track, with so much drama viewers also like to see enjoyment.
When the track ended and the person responsible for the damage never got really punished was a let down, i.e.,
1 Saxes easily forgiving Arushi for marrying KN and accepting that she realized her mistake without her having to deal with any remorse or punishment.
2 KN punishment for taking property from SS was him being tied to a pillar by a rope and then beaten, was ridiculous to me even though we were told by one of the writer's that KN will get his punishment. It was a let down.
Some other tracks could have been handled differently may have made it more interesting:
1 Having SS marrying Ganga that never appealed to the audience, if she would have fallen for Krishna (not that he would) and show P being a little jealous would have been nice or if not Ganga, continue with the Meera storyline I would have loved to see P get jealous of another girl falling for K.
2. Separation track and how they handled it was a huge mistake Krishna believed everything that Amma said and not P, and when he knew the truth and apologized to P and she didn't forgive him right away I could understand, but then not even try to listen to him was stupid especially from a person who said that K was not at fault but his mother was.
Unfortunately when a show looses viewers it is hard to get them back and SP had stopped promoting Pratigya for a few months, so I had my suspicion that they were purposely trying to bring down the ratings so they could justify in their mind for cancelling it.š”
Sad end to a remarkable show that I felt was finally getting back to the old MKAP and still had more to tell.š
agree with u! ekta never sideline the leads and thats why her serials work
