Chapter 1
The place was decorated with beautiful flowers, lightings and there were chairs arranged in a row... People present there were had dressed up very grand in bright colors and heavy jewellery... One of the guests being Arhaan Garewal and his mom Simi Garewal. Fire had been lit and it was waiting for the mantras to be read out and the saath pheres to take place... Yes it was Shaadi Mandap... But there was a commotion and people were talking to themselves... The Panditji was standing on the mandap with a confused look whether to continue with the mantras or not... In the centre down the mandap was standing Pooja with a piece of letter in her hand. Tears were rolling down her beautiful face and she was in a state of shock. Her dad quickly grabbed the letter from her hand and read it out,
Dear Pooja,
Mujhe ek bahut achcha offer mila hai abroad mein kaam karne ka aur woh mujhe fauran nikhlne ke liye orders diye hai. They have sent me the tickets and my accommodation details. Tumhe pata hai ki mera dream job tha aur aaj wahi poora ho raha hai. I know I m hurting you but I have no other option. Tum mujhse bahut gussa hogi par ek baar meri jagah ho kar socho. Please mujhe galat mat samajhna. Main jaanta hoon ki tum mujhse bahut pyaar karti ho aur mera intezaar karogi. Abhi ke liye mujhe maaf kar dene Lekin main zaroor wapas aaoonga tumhe lene. I LOVE YOU.

Her dad who already was a heart patient got the shock of his life. The groom had ran away, the man whom his daughter had loved immensely ran away from the marriage. The thought of how he was going to face the society, what will be his daughter's future... ran through his mind and he fell down catching his heart. Mehak and Kashish ran to him and caught him from falling down. They cried bitterly. Pooja recovered to her senses and ran to him. He was surrounded by his three daughters and his son-in-law Sujal. He caught Pooja's hands and said," ab kya hoga meri beti ki zindagi??? Kaun karega usse shaadi??" everyone weeped. Pooja felt guilty as she thought she was responsible for her Dad's condition. She cried," I m sorry Papa... I m sorry..."
The gossip mills worked over time and people kept on commenting. Arhaan's mom was sad for their state and she was standing there helplessly. Arhaan who had been listening to all this, looked at Pooja and her family who were weeping out their heart. He was getting on his nerves when the words of the letters came to his mind again and again. His best friend had betrayed a girl. One person among the crowd was heard saying who will marry this girl now?? No one will come forward to marry her as everyone knows that this is a love marriage and the guy whom she had loved itself left her. Arhaan without thinking for a moment went upto Pooja, caught her hands and rushed with her to the stage. She was shocked as to what was going on. Her family and his mom could neither understand what was happening. He stood before the holy fire and asked the Panditji to start the pheres. Pooja ws still she did not know how to react and kept looking at him with tears flowing out. Someone either from the groom's side or bride's side was asked to tie the garb-bandhan but all were still and they did not move from their places... simply looking at them without a blink. Arhaan saw that no one turned up so he himself tied her pallu with his shawl and they took the pheres. He put the sindoor and tied the mangal-sutra around her neck. Now she was the lawfully wedded wife of Mr.Arhaan Garewal.
They got down the stage to take the blessings of the elders and moved first towards his mom. He said, " Sorry mamma... mujhe aur kuch nahi sujaa... Bas yahi ek raastha tha."
Simi: Nahi beta... Don't say sorry... I m proud of you... (she hugged him)
She turned towards Pooja and said, " jo hua so hua... ab tum Garewal khaandan ki bahu" (she hugged her)
Pooja's dad was overwhelmed with joy. His daughter's life had been saved and she was also saved from those insults which she would otherwise face. The couple moved towards him and he got with the help of his daughters.
Mr.Sinha: tumhaara kaise shuriyadaa karoon beta... Tumne meri beti ki zindagi aur uski izzat bachaayi hai. Thank you so much... Thank you so much..."
Arhaan: Mr.Sinha dekhiye maine kuch bhi aisa nahi kiya... Meri jagah koi bhi hota shayad yahi karta"
Mr.Sinha: ye tumhaara badpan hai beta...
Pooja hugged her dad and she cried her heart out. While Arhaan moved little away so that the father-daughter could share some moments.
Mr.Sinha: beta... Ab mujhe koi darr nahi... ye ladka bahut achcha hai aur ye tumhaara zindagi bar khayal rakhega...
Pooja looked at her father with wide opened eyes.
May be she did not understand what he said at that point of time but sure destiny will make her understand that he was the one for her and he will be there for her as support and her shadow all through her life.
She did not take it seriously when her dad said those words as she felt the man whom she loved truly left her in the middle of the way and this man whom she is tied to with has never been committed to one in life.
Pooja in her mind: kaise yakeen kar le iss par jisne hamesha commitment se dara hai... aap shayad jaante nahi hai papa ki ye shaadi bas kuch dinon ki chandini hai. kuch hi dinon mein main aapke wapas aa jaaoongi apne ghar (her dad's home).
Arhaan was busy there checking out his Blackberry while she turned back and looked at him with a sense of shock, gratefulness and fear.
