This wasn't one of those amazing episodes from start to finish, but some of was outstanding. Krishna praying to Hanuman was really cute to watch. It was sincere enough, and you felt that he is praying to God to rid his family of a stranger in his abode so his heart was in the right place. Whereas when Shakti called up someone to arrange for the untimely demise of Abhimanyu, his heart was clearly not in the right place. We know he wanted that all along, but now he wants to punish him for getting him smacked right in front of the entire family. (The scene of which by the way, I watched again today just to see him slapped.) SS knows how dangerous his sons are, especially the older one as he raised them both. So I trust he knows how to deal with them. At least he should show a little respect for the mother of his other son Shakuntala who basically gave him all of her life and all he has given is money and protection. Arushi and Chandu going to the electricity was cute. I know chandu went off on the board and how pointless it is going to them, but he also was trying to do the right thing. Arushi got her point across to them, but more than that she was lucky that the guy behind the desk knew her father and was an alum of the university. I really loved how Chandu supported her, even after she was so brusque with him. Shows how classy he is.
Back to the match, the way all the villagers are tensed about it is so funny. They take it like a real amusement. The two looked ready to go today when they showed up and started prepping for the match. Of course, low-class Shakti had to go to Abhimanyu, a man he just confessed to trying to kill, to know he is going to lose to his brother. Um ok, Shakti. And just how many books have you written on the subject of wrestling? Or on anything? I bet he would say he doesn't need knowledge to be able to predict the outcome. But Shakti doesn't know everything. He underestimated his father, and he continues to do so.
Krishna taking his father's blessings was expected. Abhimanyu's taking them from his mom was expected. His taking them from SS was unexpected, and one of the best moments in today's episode. You can see in Abhimanyu's expression that he did it genuinely, and not out of any spite towards his brother. And when SS gave him his blessing, it was just as genuine. 👏👏 He wished them both happiness in front of everyone, and I am proud that he did. It showed a side of his character we rarely see and I was moved. SS knows that if Abhimanyu wins, he will stay in the haveli and people will resent it and yet he did it anyway. Whether or not the lawyer actually does pull it off is not the point so much as a father blessed both of his sons. As for Krishna's objection, it was invalid. Yes, I can understand how SS blessing his enemy would be a problem for him. But Abhimanyu went to SS as a son goes to his father and he did it from his heart. There was no sarcasm in his words, or any ulterior motive. And after what Shakti did to him, and after he brought Prats to the hospital I don't see why he should have such a big issue with it. If SS hasn't given his blessing, I would have been really disappointed.
As for Abhimanyu's coach slipping some powder into his milk, it was disgusting and totally underhanded. If Abhimanyu is meant to win, he will do it anyway. but I felt like yelling at the tube and saying, "don't drink it!, please don't drink that milk!" Plus, it shows that Shakti has less confidence in his brother's ability and he has to stoop to any level to win.
I obviously would like a certain someone to win, but even if he doesn't, I don't want Krishna to win through foul play. What I basically would like is a fair match and I hope the cvs can give it to us.

it shows that Shakti has less confidence in his brother's ability and he has to stoop to any level to win.

I don't think its bec of this...he wants ASY 'dead' , not defeated n out of TN ...which is what wud happen if K wins... so he is taking this opportunity to 'kill' ASY ...n when something goes wrong in the match nobody will question it as it happened in the heat of the match

Good post 😊

Lovely post Trina.
I haven't watched yet but K is confused by his father's behavior ... to him it probably seems like SS is giving his blessings for ASY to stay on at TN the very opposite of what K wants and is wrestling for.
Someone was kind enough to post that last scene so I did get to watch ASY drink the milk and like you I wanted to scream at my screen ... No ASY no!! Pleej don't drink it!!!

it was very sad to see how much Shakti can become disgraceful.
He don't want to give his bro a chance to show his bahaduri and win or loose fairly.
He can't help because he has evil mind...he do not have any feelings so he can not judge right or wrong.
I loved Abhi touching SS feet genuinely and SS giving him blessing without caring presence of family members. Looks like this gene of soft side of SS Abhi has inherited. So he want to achieve his rights fair way. 👏

That scene was the high point of the episode for me. SS wasn't expecting Abhimanyu to ask his blessing, none of us was, but he understood where he was coming from. It wasn't meant in a bad way or trying to show up Krishna, just a simple gesture that meant a lot to both the man and his son. And I like the cv's writing that into his character. After all, if a legitimate son born from wedlock can ask his father's blessing, then why not one born out of it? SS could have turned away and said his blessings are all for his laadla beta. When Krishna questioned him angrily, he said that he gives blessings to all his sons. Very nice touch by the cvs which they will only understand when the truth comes out.
If anything, SS' character has only grown from this track. He has always been there for his three children, a fourth should not make much of a difference apart from that it did not come from the same woman but someone from a different caste. In a world where people of different religions have come together, it isn't such a big deal. But of course in his tradition it is, and Abhimanyu is just showing him there is a different way to live.
The way he washed his mother's laundry on the roof, and took his father's blessings the following day, shows me this modern lawyer still has some strong ties to his parents. His not growing up with his real father doesn't change anything, the kind of person he is. This isn't to say he is a black-and-white character, we all know that isn't true.

Wonderful review, trina.
Loved the Arushi ban jaye moment at the municipality office.
Agreed that Abhi seeking SS' blessing was not just a moving scene...it was the pick of the epi.
Where is today's review, btw?
