'…48…49…50 !'……Pratigya finished , slowly removing her palm from her eyes, craning her neck to the right , calling out 'samar, I am coming….let's see where u r…' as she walked down the hall ……..just then krishna entered ……..he was returning from the restaurant after a hectic day ………'babu, get me a glass of water …' he said before slumbering down to the cot ………..pratigya turned teasingly to him and said …'no, I am playing with samar ….if u want water go n get urself……'….krishna gave a look of mock hurt n anger at Pratigya n said '….what! babu? Ur husband is returning from toiling for u all the day n u r not even ready to give him a glass of water… the custom of doing the duty of a wife is gone in air, I presume…….'…….'Ohoho ….i was just joking' pratigya smiled warmly n went to kitchen to fetch him water, krishna laid down leisurely on the cot , smiling to her retreating back……..pratigya fetched him water n she stood looking lovingly at him as krishna got up to take the glass from her hand…….

'so'……. he asked after gulping down two-thirds of water…….'u r playing with samar….what game?'……'hide n seek' pratigya answered ……. 'hmmm'…krishna looked up at her , his eyes turning naughty …'where r others? I mean …bauji…GD…' …pratigya who was now looking here n there for some sign of samar , didn't pay attention to his eyes , as she answered 'oh…all have gone out……….bauji n sakthi bhaiyya to the work site n menaka , piyasia n dadi n amma to the temple……' krishna's eyes gleamed in glee……..'when did they go? He asked casually………..pratigya , looking around for samar said'oh, just now….' ……krishna smiled ……….'so we r all alone here….i mean only u , samar n me…. Isn't it…?' he said properly getting up n sitting straighter on the cot…..pratigya held out her hand to take back the tumbler saying 'yes….now go to our room n be fresh…..i have to find samar …..he mustn't have gone too far……do u want anything more…..?'……..krishna , his eyes glinting in naughtiness , said 'yes……' he replaced the tumbler on the cot , beside him as n caught hold of her hand saying 'now that u have asked , how could I say no?'…….

krishna pulled her to his lap n pratigya , gasping, fell sensuously on his lap, her hands automatically circling his neck………'no…krishna…no…leave me….' Pratigya squirmed in his lap, her hands trying to push him away . krishna held her tightly , his one hand now on her waist , along her back n the other tracing her left jaw line, as he said , his face inches from hers…' well , this is not done, babu……..i am not going to leave u now…..' krishna lowered his mouth to hers , his hand tightening around her , the other now burning her down her neck……… pratigya , breathless gave a start saying 'samar !' n krishna who was about to kiss her looked up startled , releasing her quickly ………….pratigya got up from his lap hurriedly n moved back , out of krishna's reach , laughing …………..krishna looked around , confused n saw that samar was nowhere there ………….he realized that he had been fooled ……………. 'ha, now u r going to pay for this ' krishna got up from the cot n lunged at her …………..

pratigya dodged him n ran sideways , going around the cot, still laughing …… ………. They were now on the opposite sides of the cot, both looking at each other with love n mischief…………..krishna's face lit up in a naughty smile as he slowly moved to his right , stretching his arms to grab her………..pratigya , her voice full of mirth , said 'OK……so lets see how thakur sahib catches me now……………. '………krishna stopped his attempts to grab her n stood straight as he said ' u don't want to challenge krishna singh thakur , babu………he will catch u when he wants to……….n once he does…' he paused, climbing on to the cot n pratigya gave a squeak, retreating backwards ………..'he will get what he wants from u….' krishna finished , jumping down in front of her , his eyes turning opaque with desire………..pratigya , color rising to her cheeks , slowly walked back, her eyes locked on to his , at the same time trying to run sideways so that she could put another barrier infront of them……….'lo…look , krishna'….pratigya stammered , breathless,…'samar is here …..he may come looking any moment ……pls let me go….'…….krishna shook his head , walking forward , cornering her to the wall as he said ' just now u challenged me to catch u…..n when I am about to do it, u suddenly remembered samar ….wah , beta, ………'

pratigya gasped as her back hit the wall , blushing to the core , her lips curling into a shy smile , but still she said , her hands blocking him ..'try to understand krishna ……. Sam…' krishna caught hold of her hands n pinned them to the wall on her sides , his face inches from hers , his eyes holding hers in a passionate gaze……….' u should have let me kiss u earlier itself ………now that u have tried to play me , I don't intend to let u go so easily …….. ' pratigya tried vainly to get her hands freed, her face glowing red , a fit of giggles escaping her throat , n she sighed in defeat as krishna caressed her left cheek with his nose …………..krishna , chuckling in triumph kissed her cheek roughly , moving in to crush her body with his to the wall, their hands now entwined along the wall ………… pratigya , her eyes opening n closing arched her body to him , as krishna moved his mouth to her lips ………..just then , samar , bored of sitting at his hiding place n concerned why his ma didn't come looking for him, climbed down the stares silently looking for pratigya here n there ………………..once he reached the bottom he scanned the hall , calling out …'ma….ma….where r u?'…………

kriya jumped n krishna let pratigya go , wiping his mouth n arranging his face to a jovial smile n found samar standing at the bottom of the staircase staring at them …………pratigya had turned away in trepidation , trying to catch her breath n wiping her face, arranging her hair ………. ' hey, samra…' krishna called , his voice cracking but , he fought to keep it steady as he came near samar ………' what were u doing with my ma?' samar asked innocently , looking at Pratigya's back…………… krishna , color draining from his face , stuttered ….'what…?...what did I do? Nothing …….' Pratigya , shocked , stood rooted to the spot ………….'samar looked hard at krishna n then at pratigya n said ' no, …I know u did something with her ………….then why is she crying ? …….. u r very bad….' krishna , almost laughed , relieved and he picked up samar in his hands n walked back to pratigya ……so the kid only saw him moving away from his babu n her turning away to hide her face……krishna thought , relaxing ……………….

once he reached where pratigya stood , he said '……crying ? no my bakaitilal , its just that something went into her eyes n I was helping her remove it …………… now she is alright ……….aren't u babu?' he added , as he reached her , his voice full of naughtiness ………….. pratigya , relieved turned , still making a show of wiping her eyes n smiled at samar………..'yes, n ur chachu is so good' she said pinching krishna along his shoulder …….their eyes meeting in relief n embarrassment………….. pratigya, coughed n turned to samar as she saw krishna's eyes turning playful 'so samar, let chachu go n get fresh, we will play………….' 'yes…' samar said smiling ………….krishna made a sad face 'what? Ma n samar r abandoning chachu n playing alone …………chachu also wants to play with u ' he said his eyes holding pratigya's as he said the last line………………pratigya blushed n she reprimanded him with her eyes………. Samar wriggled in krishna's arms to get down n krishna let him down…………samar grabed pratigya's arm n said , facing krishna' no ………. chachu can't play with me n ma………only we too will play….yeah, ma? ' ………..pratigya looked at him, smiling n then looked at krishna , her smile even wider , teasing him 'yes, chachu won't play with us ………….he won't play by the rules ………..' ahe gave him a teasing look...

krishna , in mock outrage , pulled pratigya to him , in pretext of swearing by her head , his one hand on her head n the other holding her in place ' oh no, babu I swear I will play by the rules …….its hide n seek na……..i know the rules ………. Let me in too………..' he pouted like a child …………pratigya looked at him in amusement while samar tried to pull pratigya by hand from krishna's arms saying 'no……leave my ma….we need to play…..' krishna smiled broadly at pratigya before tightening his grip around her as he said ' pls………. babu , tell him na, …pls samra …..chachu too wants to play with u n ur 'ma' …..he stressed the word n gave pratigya a wink , his hand around her back tickling her ……… pratigya smiled inspite of herself, writhing ,but quickly gathered herself n said 'OK ….OK ….' N krishna stopped tickling her , a satisfied smile on his face ………….. pratigya turned to samar , giving Krishna a look of exasperation n mock anger …..'samar , lets get chachu too to play with us……..he is your good chachu no………n he 'will' play by the rules .don't u, krishna ? ' she asked krishna ……………krishna released pratigya n looked down at samar , smiling …'ofcourse , I will ………… so lets play ………' samar laughed , jumping up n down saying 'yes , play…. We will have loads of fun …..yeah , ma? '……….. krishna looked at pratigya, his eyes glinting in passion 'yeah , I guarantee that …indeed we will have loads of fun………..'
