There is something wrong with Ganga mentally. She seems to have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). Here are some of the symptoms of the people who suffer from this disorder.
They have a very low self esteem and very high egos.
They usually go through some disturbing incident either in their childhood or early teen years which makes them narcissistic.
When they are powerless, they are very tolerant, very benign towards others. But when they get power they show these symptoms.
- They become RUTHLESS. They show lack of emotion.
- They only think about themselves, they are very selfish.
- They are not very concerned with sex or money, they enjoy POWER.
- They love self praise and cannot stand CRITICISM.
In conclusion, people suffering from NPD has three major problems and Ganga suffers from all of these.
1. They enjoy Power. Ganga loves the new Power she has got over others in TN. Ganga wants to have power even if that means bothering an infant and taking him away from his mother.
2. They cannot stand self criticism and loves praise - Ganga has been complaining about everybody to SS who has shown her disregard. She loves the praise that SS showers on her.
3. They show lack of emotion and are ruthless - Ganga's behaviour with the Gunga Servant is just like that. She totally lacks senstivity and sympathy.
Seems like Ganga was physically abused as a child and thus she developed this disorder.
