Women in this society are so dispensible. If you don't like your daughter-in-law, it seems perfectly acceptable to just kill her off, or as they say in Jersey, whack her.
First the Thakurs tried to get rid off Pratigya by attempting to burn her alive, then by eletrocution and now Kesar is buried alive.
It is shocking to see what lowly status these women really have and how easily, without any thought about the consequences, the family is ready to kill them off!!! And then just get a new one.
And it is not just the uneducated mindset.
The educated ones are also mistreating their DIL emotionally, by always disrespecting her.
"Pratigya" is making me so much more aware of these issues.
