Pratigya is driven by principle (and sometimes has no sense of reality or perspective) and Baba can be sooooo cute that you just want to eat him...mmmmm....

Pratigya moves the story forward. Krishna grounds it - and has by far the best zinger lines.
But Ganti dadi just rocks. She is the true hero and the only one who is truly blame free

I don't know if I can say that. we don't know her involvement in the fiasco about the first wife that was murdered.

Ghanti dadi is a symbol of the voiceless Indian women. Women who have no voice to protest against the injustices heaped upon them, day in and day out.
And Kesar is symbolic of the powerlessness of women.

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ For the voiceless Indian women who have at least the power to express their emotions and display their likes and dislikes. GD is the only character in the show who has a voice and is not afraid to raise it.

I disagree - Kesar accepts and enables what is happening - in fact Thakurain and Krishna are often quoting the fact that Kesar doesn't mind. GD makes her diapproval and displeasure known - and her principles don't seem to change with the wind the way those of the other characters do

I agree to an extant yes Kesar accepts the injustices inflicted upon her but why, she has no other option her parents are unreliable, she has no education hence does not have the capability to care for herself . She could protest but the outcome would be abuse not that she does not deal with it already, her voice would fall on deaf ears where as GD has a position in the house one that demands respect from each member she has the ability to portray her distaste for any situation with no consequences.. but there is a major similarity between the two neither are taken seriously GD portrays her feelings they are overlooked, while Kesar is simply overlooked and nothing will change until both decide to take some action simply stating your distaste is not enough...

I agree with Hope on this lighthousepier.
I can't say GD is blame free. There's so much we don't know about her.... plus there was that time when Amma told Kesar that GD wanted to get SS remarried as she has not conceived after one year of marriage.....I know that many had taken this statement as Thakurain lying to fool Kesar but I didn't. Thakurain had a reminiscent look on her face when she said it so I think there's truth to it.....
