In spite of all the hungama, in spite of all the drama, yesterday's episode left me feeling dissatisfied. Many things were merely repetitive and many things did not add up. I just wish the CVs would clarify a few things in the upcoming episodes.
Where are you going with the Thakurs?
Frankily the Thakurs have begun to bore me with their evil ways! This unrelenting drip of venom and bile, slaps insults and violence is just a whole lot of dj vu! Been there seen that. They have worked their way through the whole gamut of athyachaar against women. I think it is time we saw them begin to see the consequences of their actions, otherwise it seems like a dead-end narrative. Each individual character also is not on any unique graph, they just look like a congealing mass of rot, at it is getting visually tiring.
Where are you going with the Mathurs?
Again nothing scintillating. Jay has some spark. Aman has some mystery. None of the rest, including the very sulking Gaurav have made any great impact. The mother is very pleasant though. I really hope you guys have some solid storyline if the charcters are this dull.
Where are you going with Krishna Thakur?
For the first time, I really don't understand Krishna's motivations. Does he really care about the evil his family is perpetrating?! Then why did he try and get into their good books a little while back? Why did he constantly ask Pratigya to lay off them? Is his sole concern for P? then why did he try to compromise her in front of his family and try to weaken her position? If he thinks she has the right to call the police whenever she thinks fit and respects her individual freedom so much, then why did he throw such a tantrum about her just stepping out of the house with Kesar to go to the hospital?
In all this K is coming across as a wishy-washy character who does not know what he wants or what he is doing from moment to moment. Now he has said he is going to stand against his family. Does he really mean it? Of is he going to melt with a little more dialogue-baazi from SS about Madari-ka-doodh?
Where are you going with Pratigya?
We understand that Pratigya is extremely rigid in her core principals. But anything a character says is more effective when they say in with a human touch. In all other situations P manages to come across as sweet, loving and very special, very unique. But many of the times when the scene is an important one like yesterday, in a typical "Good vs Evil" type of situation P suddenly becomes like a cardboard character reading out of a textbook. In some situations it works and is necessary, but if this "Soapbox" kind of card is used too often then it loses its impact. Yesterday when she was talking about the law, I really wished she would just scream and shout and tell them that god would never forgive them and that if they continued then Alopi Maiya would curse this family, and of course bring in the police aspect too; But all a bit emotionally, generally act a bit mad, instead of calmly standing there and giving them detailed accounts of the Hindu Marriage law and penal code. It just came across as too dry and unimpactful.
Where are you going with the story?
Prat Niwas? Aarushi's wedding? Shakti's wedding? Jai's khulaasa? Elections? Thakurs comeuppance? Mathur masala? What, when, how? Keep us hooked, please!
I know you will have something up your sleeve! I trust you guys a whole lot! You probably have reasons for every each of the things mentioned above. So this is not a criticism for any kind of long term work, but just to express a little dissatisfaction in the recent past. I really wish you will come up with some really "TURRAMKHAN" stuff and wow us again!😃
