Ghanti Dadi - The eldest member of Thakur Niwas.. Sajjan Singh's mother... She is by far the most ambiguous characters... Why is she in this serial??

Her DIL gave her a chore to do while she sat lounging around like a maharani..

Even though Prats had taken her permission to go out on Friday, she was unable to support her and was told to Shut Up by her son..

She sympathizes with Kesar's plight but has no power to force her son, DIL or grandson KN to better their behavior towards her..

Worse still she knows the gang attempted to MURDER Prats in cold blood but she doesn't tell Krish about it..

Does anyone else agree with me???

Yes she has decided not to speak for the last 21 years. But if she wants she can speak .Its her choice.

Maybe she is in the serial to show the people that an elderly person, a mother, too can be abused by her own son and DIL...
...Also to show how vulnerbale elderly people are, at their twilight years they depend on the goodwill of their son's and daughters looking after them. That many elders out there do not recieve any respect, are ignored if they do try to 'speak' up.
Don't forget GD could be kicked out by SS nay moment - where will she go? who will feed and cothe her?....She more than anyone knows what her own son is like, she has seen her DIL from day one so knows what they are capable of. She is not a superwoman that she could do everything and look after everyone. At her age, being so vulnerable, she should look after herself...if her son had a shred of humanity in him than I would be wondering why she isn't talking to him or punishing him....as it is, it is wise she has kept quiet, otherwise her own life would be in danger.

Ghanti Dadi is so important to this show because she has showed Krish the rite way and she has stopped SS sometimes when he has done wrong
