Sadism is all right in its place, but it should be directed to proper ends~ Sigmund Freud
The reformative effect of punishment is a belief that dies hard, chiefly I think, because it is so satisfying to our sadistic impulses ~ Bertrand Russell
At the Niwas, Piasiya comes up with lame excuses after Takurain browbeats her to get the work done. Takurain, the slave driver then hands over Kesar's job to her sasuma Ganti Dadi and asks her to clean the methi. She orders Kesar "You got away with not going any work during your pregnancy, but things have changed, you are worthless to the family. Go mop the floor! you have to earn your meal by doing your share of the work. So get on with it". Prats questions Takurain "What are you doing Amma? It's not right to get her to do so much work, she is not fully recovered." Amma taunts "if you care so much about your Didi instead of lecturing and arguing with me why don't you lend her a helping hand?" Prats steps up to do Kesar's chore and tells her to rest. Amma directs Kesar to wash clothes and hang them out to dry. Takurain, what you need is someone to come and wring your neck and hang you out to dry😡. How would you like that for a change? You are just a coward! As you said recently, Prats doesn't cow down to your bullying so you go after someone she has a soft spot for and take your sadistic pleasure by hurting her instead.
Real love is when you become selfless and you are more concerned about your mate's or children's egos than your own. You are now a giver instead of a taker ~Sylvester Stallone
Adarsh is bored sitting in bed and asks to have a look out the window. Komal pushes him in his wheel chair and complains "Ever since you go this wheelchair you are bothering me to play nursemaid to you all day, why can't you just sit in one place?" This is not about you Komal. A little selfless service will do you a world of good, girl. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, you are not the one who is convalescing right now. Show some compassion, he is your husband for goodness sake! Nainaji is saddened after she overhears Komal.
Remember your humanity and forget the rest ~ Albert Einstein
Prats calls Swati, a doc in Allahabad. "I want to take my jetani to see a woman's specialist. Doctor says "There is a specialist Manish Koketri visiting Allahabad right now. Go right now before he leaves town today. I will let him know you are on your way to see him". Prats tells Kesar "leave the work for later I'm taking you to see a specialist right now". Piasiya protests and Prats has a few choice works for the maid "You pay attention to your work, ther is no need fo you to teach us the rules of this household". Prats tries to call Krishna before she leaves but doesn't reach him. Since RED were not at home she gets Dadi's permission and leaves with Kesar. Where was RED off to today, anyways? Going to check out KN wife # 2? There you go! Operation RED is on another mission besides trying to off Prats. Are they trying to keep us guessing or what?😲
Do what you know best; if you're a runner, run, if you're a bell, ring ~ Ignas Bernstein
Most knocking is done by folks who don't know how to ring the bell
Krishna pulls over and checks the phone Concerned and curious about the call from home he calls the Niwas. Ganti Dadi picks up and rings her bell in reply. Frustrated with Ganti Dadi ringing the bell in response he hangs up and returns home. What was so important Baba? And where were you going anyways? As of now you are eligible for a spot on the unemployment line. You always seem to stay away when there is a lot going on in the house.
Unforgiveness is like drinking the poison and waiting for the other person to die!
The stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naive forgive and forget; the wise forgive but do not forget ~ Thomas A Szasz
Mummy Mathur answers Prof's. phone call. They finalize the wedding day for the 24th. She is happy and asks Gaurav to pick Aman's trousseau for the wedding. Gaurav is hesitant and Aman queries him "you are angry with father so why are you putting him in the middle of your differences". Gaurav responds bitingly "a prosperous/famous tree never lets another tree spread and grow under it. How will he let a family's love grow?" Mummy Mathur calls him on it "is this any way to talk about your father. On this happy occasion what is the point of thinking about past events."
There is no value in life except what you choose to place upon it and no happiness in any place except what you bring it to yourself. - Henry David Thoreau
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong ~ Gandhiji.
The word 'happiness' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness ~ Carl Jung
Papa Mathur is a silent listener browsing through a book. Mummy Mathur shares her wisdom"beta, happiness is an opportunity to share" and Gaurav cuts in "and so is sadness. What about sadness? Does it leave a man alone, leaving him to throb, suffer and die? Which family are you talking about, this one? Seeing this family's happiness destroyed, doesn't seem to sadden your husband sad one bit". Aman, Nandhini and Mummy are all visibily upset as Gaurav leaves the room. Nandhini asks "when will all this end?" Good point! We want to know that too, He is bitter about his past and holding on to it for dear life. Mummy Mathur appeals to Papa "forget all this. He is your child, he will understand." Aman is not happy with the what's going on and he exits too. Gaurav, it's obvious you want to communicate with your Dad but the way you choose to do it just highlights your pain, hurt, bitterness and resentment. Your father's silence is only adding fuel to your fiery emotions. Just get off your pedestal and sit down with him and get it all off your chest. It's good for you and the family in the long run. Your Papa is obviously as pig-headed with his silence as you are with your condescending remarks. Be the bigger person and make the first move to heal the relationship.
Be ever vigilant, but never suspicious ~ A Proverb
Krishna returns home calling "Pratigya" while RED is in conversation. Piasiya informs him that Prats and Kesar were out galavanting around town without telling anyone about their whereabouts. Krishna asks "She went out without telling anyone?" Amma chimes in "See baba your wife, she has now taken Kesar also with her, trying to influence her into becoming just like her". Ganti Dadi rings her bell and gestures "she went after telling me". Way to go, Ganti Dadi, in spite of your silence you communicate your feelings very well. Sajjan Singh tells her to stop ringing and warns Baba "don't blame me when things go wrong, things have gone beyond the limits. I won't let Prats destroy this family." Takurji, seems you have become delusional. Your gatiya acts are enough to destroy your family all by itself. Place the blame where it belongs, squarely on your shoulders.
Telling someone the truth is a loving act ~ Mal Pancoast
Just then Pratigya returns home with Kesar. Amma taunts Krishna "look she is back". She turns her wrath on Kesar "Even after all this has happened you have no sense, you've been roaming around town." Prats replies "We weren't roaming, we went to see a specialist". Amma taunts her "How will we know? Are we following you?" She tells Baba "ask her why she went without asking?" Why ask him? You have shown you are capable of being a vicious motormouth so ask her yourself. You are so scared what Prats will say something to push you back on your heels. Prats replies "I left with Ganti Dadi's permission and Piasiya knows it too. But this maid as mean as her mistress pleads innocence. Prats exposes her lies.
I do not know which to prefer, The beauty of inflections, Or the beauty of innuendoes, The blackbird whistling, Or just after ~Wallace Stevens
KN gets bossy and tells Krishna to keep his wife under control. But SS swats him like a fly and tells him to shut up. He follows his wife's lead and tells Krishna "ask your Prat Devi what the specialist said. When will Kesar have a child or will she be barren?" Prats finds it offensive and tells SS " at least you don't talk to her that way, A girl is taught at a young age that sasur is another name for father. Kesar may never be able to give birth to her child in this lifetime but she is still a living human being". Amma turns to taunt Krishna "Are you watching Baba? Look how we have to learn to speak from her". Krishna waves a finger at Prats "stop with the lectures, there is no need to interfere in other people's problems." Krishna tells her to remember that and Prats watches surprised. Ganti Dadi watches in confusion. Baba, you sure have an aversion to lectures.

Krishna argues with Prats "What's wrong with Kesar working for a meal". Prats turns it around and serves it back to Krishna "You don't do any work, so you ...it was more truth than Krishna was ready to face. Krishna of earlier days emerges and in a fit of rage he swings his arm in a fit of rage (flashback to the night of her engagement to Nitin) Prats looks at him visibly shocked😲! Time for Baba to drink that karela juice and get ready for change. Not the change that comes out of the vending machine. As John Simone Sr. said "If you're in a bad situation, don't worry it'll change. If you're in a good situation, don't worry it'll change.Your comments. Please!😃
