He was just doing his duty as a son. Remember, when Shyam Saxena got arrested for killing Angad(after admitting by himself that he killed Angad), Pratigya/Adarsh went to the police station to get him out on bail. This after the fact that he himself admitted that he killed Angad. Murder is equal in the eyes of the law. It doesn't matter if the person killed was a bad person or an innocent unborn child. It is still a crime. What would you call pratigya for taking her father's side(who confessed to committing a crime by killing angad). I would have called her an educated fool, because she did'nt saw the crime being committed with her own eyes then how on earth she could support her father and sys he is not guilty as well as in Kesar's case she did'nt see with her own eyes what happened, she just heard some noises coming from the room, May be Kesar, Shakti and Amma was having a ball in there. What an impulsive character.
And also, Krishna still can't believe his mother is that evil. We as viewers know that, but he still doesn't know. It doesn't matter which side he chooses, he will still do his duty as a son for his mother. And since he couldn't completely stand by his wife, support her and do the right thing, he is going to punish him by drinking the water. Well he is well known to do this much too often, first make a mistake and then punish himself as he can not see his wifey suffering alone.
That action itself shows which side he has chosen and his purity of heart. Please don't call him coward. Agreed

It did, pay close attention to the details, how easily someone can believe that they were having a ball in that room and Kesar had a mishap. Pratigya concocted the story all by herself and conspired against Amma and shakti bhai to get rid of them for good by sending them to jail. What a clever woman this Pratigya is.
