I think two reason....

if she didn't more hungama and maybe she is doing it for Krish....he will fight for her so more words to him from his parents....Krish drinking stops from them having a go at her and also showing his parents that he is respecting them...

not that stops them....did u hear his mother 'wife's ghulam'...or something like that....
