I don't think its right for you to determine whether a members/fans love for their celebrity is genuine or not. Just because their pointing out his flaws, doesn't mean their any less of a fan than you. His got a tummy and that's that! Some people like it, some people don't. Just because we point it out, doesn't mean we don't love him. It just means that where thinking realistically and practically.

And plus what's wrong with people advising him to go to the gym or to tone up? Where not telling him to grow some muscles. All where saying is that he needs to be careful with his stomach. If he doesn't do something about it now, then maybe in the future his belly will get bigger and bigger.
