my understanding is that the beaded wristband is the same as a tavis - a protection against worldly evils - when the band breaks the envelope of protection is gone. which is why he ends up in ICU. - it is superstition and I do not believe it has any real effect - things happen in life and only cautious behaviour and quick wits and a ton of luck can protect you from these ills

I do not think the band symbolizes birth or rebirth. he already broke it once when he slit his wrists - how many time is he being reborn?? every two months?

I doubt it means anything the creatives have simply shown his things scattered in order to portray his devastated condition, and his vulnerable state a man once feared by all is now being teased by even little children.
