Chapter 5

It's been a week since Arushis death. The coroners report showed that Arushi died of natural causes..... she had died of heart attack...

There was growing fear in the community that this was not some ordinary death. There were rumours being spread around like wildfire that Samara had taken her.

Preeti had returned to college after three weeks..... still shaken and afraid of what had happened to Arushi. There was still no sign of Aleena. Aleena's parents had filed a missing persons report at the local police station. There was growing speculation that Aleena may have ran off with her boyfriend but her friends knew this was false and was there to silence any one who made horrible comments about her.... Preeti knew something had happened to her but couldn't remember what..... she had vowed to get at the bottom of this very soon.

Ding ding ding..... The bell had rang..... the corridors were packed with students who were rushing out of their classrooms.

'Hurry up Pratigya..... we will miss the bus and then we have to walk home in the dark shouted Preeti.

'I'm coming yaar just fixing my dupatta... it got stuck in the nail.... Look its ripped said Pratigya with a frown.

'QUICK RUN....PRATIGYA' shouted Preeti.... Pratigya ran but missed the bus.... Preeti was fuming like a volcano. Who was about to blow a top....

Preeti: I told you to hurry up..... you're such a dunce... Now we have to walk home....😡😡😡😡😡

Pratigya: Relax Preeti.....I'll make it up to you..lets go and grab something to eat then we'll go..

Preeti: Ok

They make their way to a small restaurant just outside their college.....The sun was setting, it was getting dark....They were walking home whilst eating their Haagen daz ice cream.....

It was dark.... Preeti and Pratigya were only a couple of minutes away from reaching their home.(they live opposite each other) When Preeti felt a spine chilling terror. There was goosbumps appearing on her arms.. she began to hyperventilate... menacing voices were heard behind the trees.

Preeti.... Preeti....... Whats wrong tell me??? Said Pratigya who was looking on with concern

Pra Prat Pratigya...... Preeti stuttered we must make a run for it..... When suddenly a group of men of around 6 in black leather clothing had appeared in a flash........

They were tall, muscular and appeared to give off an evil aura.

Man 1: She is the one.. take her Damon will be pleased..

Pratigya: Damon????? Isn't he Preetis boyfriend?????? Hey you where is Damon?????? What does he want with Preeti?

Man 2: Shut up fool....We're not here for you.. but if u tick us off you wont survive......b@tch

Pratigya: Who u calling a b@tch....... You retard.

Man 2 who is furious let out a growl.. and suddenly grabbed Pratigya by the hair, pushed her on the floor....kicked her in the stomach...

Pratigya let out a scream......Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Preeti was in shock....she burnt with rage...... you 🤬 bas@..... How dare you lay your hands on my friend.....

Preeti......with all her might punched man 2 who fell to the ground'..

He growled in rage''.the other 5 men'.. quickly caught hold of Preeti and Pratigya''..

You will die'.Man 2 quickly transformed into something sinister'' he looked pale, menacing with brooding eyes.. but shocking of all his teeth were seemed to elongate..

Pratigya who was in shock couldn't believe what she saw......YOU ARE A VAMPIRE?????

Man 2: of course u stupid....... do u expect a medal for your new found knowledge????

Preeti: It cant be......there is no such thing as vampire.....its all a myth

The vampires all burst in laughter.......HAHAHAHAHAH

Vampire 1: Preeti...... You of all should know of vampires... Damon was a vampire..... Don't you remember????

Preeti: remember what? Whos Damon (She struggled to get out of his grasp)

Vampire 1: her memory seems to be erased

Vampire 2: Damon, your boyfriend who wanted to kill you but it was your friend Aleena who died and it was YOUR fault.

Too bad. Damon was really in love with Aleena. But she knew to much. She had to die but such a horrible death......nobody expected this........she died saving you and now you know...........no-one will save you from us......(the vampires laugh)

Preeti and Pratigya are hysterical..... and are screaming....... they couldn't believe that Aleena was dead...

Pratigya: You will pay for this u creep.... she manages to get out of the vampires grasp and grabs a wooden stick and whacks him on the head

Vampire 3 quickly grabs Pratigya and bites her...but then all of a sudden there was flash of blue lightening that appeared .. It seemed to burn the vampire who attacked Pratigya......the smell of burning flesh looms in the air..... there was a horrible rotten smell......

The vampires are scared.......another bolt strikes the vampires..and then he appears......... He was tall, rugged looking and handsome.

Pratigya falls in love .......

Vampire: you will not get away with this.......... when Damon hears about this..... it will be your end.......

The mysterious man was furious and shouts shut up'''all of you will die''.he stakes the vampires in the heart'''.. The vampires flesh begins to disintegrate in to thin air''.

Mysterious man glances at Preeti and Pratigya'..and turns away as the smell of flesh blood begins to entice him''He shouts at them go''.. and take your friend to your hospital''..she is lucky she hasn't had any blood sucked out yet'

Preeti: but'..

Mysterious man: Shut up and go''.or else I'll kill you both here'.

Pratigya struggles to get up''she feels dizzy and is about to fall when the mysterious man quickly grabs her by the waist'''..they look deep into each others eyes''. a sense of euphoria overcomes the mysterious man''.he is gazes at her soft lips''. Fair skin'..he was mesmerized by her beauty''.

Preeti: erm shall we go or do you just wanna carry on with your staring session''she chuckles

Pratigya: breaks away from the trance but is too weak to walk'..

The mysterious man says Ill take you both to the hospital its not safe'.lets go'my car is nearby'' Preeti grabs Pratigya who is too weak''.and says to the guyerm can I have some help plz''.

Mysterious man: NO''. you should be happy that your getting a lift'

Preeti mutters under her breath''.. creep

They eventually reach the car and he drives them to the hospital which was not far '''.

Man: My job is done here'' we wont be seeing each other now''.

Preeti: thanks for your help'.hey whats your name????

Man: You don't need to know'' hurry up and take her inside before something happens to her''he retorts and drives off without saying goodbye'

Preeti: such a creepo''loser cant even say goodbye'.. she looks at pratigya who is getting weaker by the second and takes her straight into A&E.....
