it was confusing time (this is going 20 years back) apologising not once twice three times not just in front of everyone in private too, then blaming me for his mistakes, back then all my cousins got married straight after leaving school no college or uni, my father let me study i was 1st year law student and happy (he left school and went to labourers job) but due to family and society my parents arranged this marriage (by the way our preist was against it and told my parents) but the let this marriage happen. just like pratigya i was insulted in private and public. Thats when my parents chachas mamahs said no way in hell i was going back (from that day my parents got death threats, rape etc u name it to force me to go back) we had police at outside our house. i was 19years old divorce by 20 i am from a family where i was one of 3 sisters and 13 brothers (my chachas sons and daughters are not cousins we are brothers and sisters). it took a very long time(5 years) to trust and my husband persued me i had met him and said i did not want to get married again but we talked and saw each other. i have been happily married for 16 years now and not once has my husband abused me physically we have arguements like every other couple but physical and mental abuse is not their. you can forgive but forgetting is the hardest part. When i started to watch pratigya i also loved krishna but it brought back bitter memories, its the first time i have actually written about it, i hope this would now you can see why i said "take it from someone whose been to hell and back"

i had orginally said no to marriage to my husband but he persued me so that i could trust and believe again, My father whom i love dearly asked me "what right did he have to hit you" and why was it i was not able to come to him the very first time it happened all i could remember saying was i did not want him to be embrassed or disrespected in front of his friends and family because of me. my father broke down, he said i was always going to be his wonderful beautiful innocent daughter.
