"Latest to join the popular jodi bandwagon are krishna and pratigya from mann ki awaz pratigya .Though the couple is yet to discover their love for one another.;their fierce ego battles make the sohw popular with aduience , and iuts alos the channel frontunner in the race of trp.The brahimn ka ladka and kayasth ki ladki have finally managed to win the hearts of the viewer."

I dont think the reference to brahmin ka ladka and kayasth a ladki is to this show. Here the girl is the brahmin and the guy, kayasth (which I presume the Thakurs are).

Umm..I think Pratigya's family are Kayasth cause SS & Amma keeps giving her gaali saying "Kayasth ki beti" again and again...

The Thakurs, I don't think are Brahmins though. Brahmins are vegetarian, aren't they? 😕

I thought Saxena was a brahmin surname, isn't it? Don't know of any kayasth with that surname. Could be wrong as I am not too familiar with north Indian names. Thakurs are definitely not brahmins. They belong to the warrior class which I presume refers to the kayasths.

Just did a net search. Seems that Kayasths are a sub-division amongst the brahmins and thus Saxenas are thus both kayasth and brahmin. thakur can either be kshatriyas or bhoomikars (warriors or landlords). Looking at Krishna's family they look more like the warrior class.
