Pearl Grey said TV network wanted Arhaan as Krishna and boy did they have a winner. BINGO! He is a newcomer and he has won the attention and admiration for his performance. Pooja on the other hand has a few shows under her belt so it's surprising that her performance comes short at times.
I think what is lacking in her performance is the AFFECT (definition: the conscious subjective aspect of feeling or emotion) In every day speech our emotions influences the highs and dips in our speech patterns. Her dialogue delivery is mostly flat bec' of the absence of affect. She did a decent job when she told him "tumse nafrat karthi hoon, sirg nafrat" but the more subtle emotions seem to be a challenge for her. Whether it's anger or fear or hate, these are intense emotions and run deep so the natural thing is for it to spill over in our expressions. Could it be she doesn't understand these emotions well. Maybe some acting lessons to hone the emotions and expressions will take her performance to a level that matches Arhaan's. Some of her challenges stand out bec' we see her co-star's performance is at a higher level.
👏
Yesterday was the first time for her to take center stage and give us an emotional performance. You'd think as a woman she'd have shown more intensity when she talked about an insaan eating his own offspring. Nope! Let's hope she does whatever it takes before the romance really begins.
Even I felt that a powerful diagloue which was expressing a hideous crime like aborting an unborn child shld make u shudder from inside but those words out of her mouth felt like a boring lecture. She cld have had her moment there but it came out very flat. She surely needs a few acting lessons to keep up with Arhaan and Anupam Shayam(SS)
Standing ovation hai, ka? I haven't watched Pooja's performance before so it's hard to tell if it's just this character. We saw promos where we know she can give some strong takes like the first promo about the duppatta and the recent one with "chaar bachche giraya" what' happened? She gave a stronger performance in the promo than the one that made it to the show. Crying seems to come easily to her. I feel it's her lack of real life experiences with some emotions that she can draw from to make it look real.
When we watch Arhaan or SS or even Komal you get the feeling they are not playing a character, could be who the really are. They impress you with a performance that is believeable. The Sucksenas except Prof and Dadi at times, are not powerful performers like the Tacurse. 😃
