Part 8
It was like she was re-living that moment, it was passing in front of her eyes, but so slowly that she felt like she was there. She looked at the scene in front of her...
"Krishna! Krishna!" she yelled as she came out of the bathroom. The room seemed empty and she stepped out, letting out a sigh of relief. She walked towards their bed, where her clothes were neatly layed out on top. She picked up her shalwar, when suddenly Krishna popped out of the closet, "BOO!"
She turned around and screamed in fear, Krishna burst out laughing. "Krishna, you idiot!" she said, trying to calm her racing heart.
"Sorry...I just...you just-" he said through fits of laughter. She rolled her eyes and picked up the rest of her clothes off the bed and marched angrily towards the bathroom. Krishna followed her, running to the bathroom door before she did and stopping her by putting his arm in front of her.
"Krishna, I don't have time for your silly game...let me go" she said, clearly agitated.
"But you should always make time for my silly games," he replied, putting on a puppy dog expression, an attempt to make her melt her anger. "Oh just stop, if you think for a moment that with that face your going to make me melt, well then you my friend, can just forget it. Now I said move your hand."
Krishna didn't give up though and just stood there. "Fine, what do you want?" she said, rolling her eyes. A mischievious grin begin to creep on to his face, as he lifted his finger, placing it on his cheek. Pratigya looked at him confused, "are you trying to be some kind of shy dulhan?"
"Haha, no," he said, tapping his finger with his cheek again.
"Yes Krishna, I too have cheeks, whats your point?" Pratigya said now trying to push his arm away from the door. "Krishna, will you please just let me go? I have to get dressed!"
"Well," Krishna said as he grabbed the clothes out of Pratigya's hand "fight for your right to dress!"
"What is that even supposed to mean?" Pratigya said dumbfounded, but she snapped back to reality when she heard Krishna's laugh. She turned around to see him by the bed, holding her clothes and laughing.
"Come and get them!" he said.
"Krishna! Oh my gosh, its like dealing with a two year old, give me my clothes!" She said as she lunged towards him. He quickly ran away and the both of them ran around the room, Krishna ran towards and the bed and bounced on top of it. "Oh! I just made the bed!" Pratigya said as she came towards him and ended up tripping on the rug and landed on the bed herself. She lay there for a minute, motionless, with her face dug in to the bedsheets.
Finally after several moments, she let out a huge laugh, laughing freely as she turned herself right side up. Her laughter rang throughout the room, as a confused Krishna looked on. "Pratigya? You haven't gone psychotic have you?" he asked, inching off the bed.
She stopped laughing, and abruptly sat up. He sat up as well. He looked at her, sitting there, her hair covering her face. She removed her hair slowly out of her face and let out a playful roar as she jumped on him. The sudden force knocked him on his back, and her on top of him.
"Crazy woman! I think you took the game too seriously!" But he couldn't help it, but join in. They both began wrestling on the bed, rolling around, messing up the bedsheets. At one moment, Pratigya yelled "okay stop! enough!" Krishna stopped abruptly on top of her and they both burst out laughing again, at the sheer childishness of it all. Pratigya continued laughing, even when Krishna had stopped, she didn't notice him examining her face. Finally she stopped laughing and looked up at him.
"What?" she asked, his gaze making her slightly uncomfortable.
"Your just so beautiful," he said, as he began stroking her cheek. She began to blush and tried to pull away, but his body weight had her pinned down pretty tight.
"Krishna," she whispered, but he wasn't paying attention. His eyes were fixated on her lips, as he brought his hand up to them, slowly stroking the bottom part of her lips. His touch sent small shock waves throughout her whole body. He leaned in to kiss her lips and she closed her eyes, pulling her head back. He placed a small peck on cheeks and made his way down to her exposed neck. He placed small pecks on every part of her neck and moved his way down to her collar bones. She gripped his shoulders and suddenly he stopped. He looked up.
"Are you okay?" he asked her, "have I done something wrong?"
"No," she replied softly, "I want you to." He moved his way back up to her, so that their faces were at the same level.
"Are you sure? I mean, I know at our wedding night you didn't want to...but I just want you to be sure," he said. She smiled at him, this was the part of his very nature that had drawn her towards him. His ability to put her needs in front of his, and his on going concern for her every emotion. She placed a small peck on his cheek, "I'm sure." He smiled at her gesture and brought his nose close to hers and they rubbed their noses together. He slowly pulled the bath robe off her shoulder and kissed it.
"Well in that case..." he whispered as he worked his way down.
Pratigya snapped back in to reality, she was back in the dark room, with a drunk Krishna sleeping beside her. Her eyes were filled with tears, and her mind racing with thoughts. She tried to recreate the memory in her head, but to no avail. She sat there, her body shaking from the shock. She looked back at Krishna, who lay there, deep in sleep and unaware of her condition. She outstretched her trembling hand, and slowly touched his cheek. Suddenly she began sobbing, her body shaking more violently than ever. This was all real! All so real! Pratigya let out a cry of pain, screaming and tugging at the bedsheets. She hugged her legs, crying in to the night...

Krishna awoke from his sleep slowly, his head throbbing with pain. He placed his hand on his temples and began to rub them, sitting up. He finally looked up and realized where he was! "Shit!" he muttered under his breath loudly. He slowly turned to his side and saw Pratigya sleeping on the bed, next to him. He thought of waking her up, but then thought better of it. He began to get off the bed slowly, when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around to see Pratigya, who had woken up suddenly.
"Pratigya, I-" he began.
"Shhhh," she said placing a finger on his lips. "Its fine." Then suddenly she drew her face closer to his, and laid a peck on his forehead. He was shocked to say the least at her gentle gesture. He looked at her for a moment, attempting to read her face. "Krishna, you know what I realized...it is probably just as hard for you as it is for me. I have been nothing but selfish and rude. What I did yesterday, asking you to...just so that I could remember. I didn't even care your feelings at the time." She took his hands in to hers and stared at him, their eyes met, and they stared at each other for what felt like an eternity.
"I don't know what the future has in store for us...but I do know this. That whatever it has in store, I do want my future to be with you..." she said, breaking the silence.
Krishna didn't know what to say, his words seemed to be caught in his throat. He looked at her, there she was, so vunerable and distraught and yet attempting to reach out to him. He could see the edge of her eyes beginning to brim with tears. Suddenly she lept in to his arms, and began to cry in to his shoulder. Krishna held her, caressing her back and softly placing a kiss on her temple. "Shhh....its okay," he said, "its okay."
