KSBKBT FF: The broken ties Part1 : Gunjan threatens Bhoomi Pg1
Hello All,
I want to preface this post by saying that I absolutely adore this show. I think easily it is SP's best drama these days. The characters are for the most part, all multilayered and there is humour as well as emotion and romance. And the acting is top notch too.Lately, while reading all your fine folk's opinions on Kriya though, something has been really troubling me. I seem to be noticing a trend where Pratigya is actually being blamed and being said to be wrong whereas Krishna is being referred to as "poor Krishna."Now, again, I feel I have to preface this - I love Krishna's character. He's one of the most dynamic new male characters on indian tv since a long time. His all consuming passion for Pratigya is so interesting and the actor brings such depth to the role. And by no means do I think his character is unredeemable, in terms of overall scope. However, let's get one thing straight her - he is clearly a character who morally grey.I think when looking at the recent Kriya marriage and Pray's reactions to K, our love for K blinds some of us against IMO the larger picture and context. No matter how much we love K, and want to see Kriya together, we must remember that Prats, does not, amd has not ever loved K. And ultimately, that is her decision, as a thinking young woman, it is her right whom she loves and does not. That does not make her right or wrong necessarily but it is her right. For her, K prob represents at this point everything in a man she finds detestable - he is uneducated and uncouth and his values are so wholly dissimilar from her own. These are facts. Again, we might not find K undesirable even after all of this, but obviously Prats does.We also must remember that K has been intentionally or unintentionally responsible for causing great distress to Prats and her family on more than one occasion, including the breakup of her previous engagement. On the whole again, at this point, Prats and K are two very different thinking sorts of people. K is a very "ends justify the means" kind of guy. He comes from a fsmily where the men are barbarians. He himself, was not even shown to flinch when he saw a man being beaten to death by his fathers goons (in his fathersintroduction scene) and merely skipped right over the bleeding man to get to his father. By no means do i think K is unredeemable. I do think there's a great deal in him that can be salvaged and he definitely seems to atleast have some sort of moral compass, which separates him from the rest of his family, and I can actually see Prats helping him towards that path, but for now, he is by no means an innocent in any of this.I feel like we forget all of this when judging Kriya right now and most of us only come at it from K's point of view, and forget Prats. Both their point of views are legitimste in their own way, but I guess I just found it wierd that Prats was being actively blamed for anything here.Ofcourse, I hope to see both these characters evolve and for Kriya to find some sort of commonality from which a potential both-ways romance can begin to blossom. But for now, its going to take time. And that's not necessarily Prats fault. In my opinion.I hope I hven't offended anyone with my post. I do love this show, and hence my lamba chaudha detailed ramblings, lol. 😊
