I think the amount of sheer confusion and discord the writers create by placing such funny dialogues in such severly disturbing scenarios basically forces the viewer to feel uncomfortable even while they're laughing - and the great thing about this is that it sort of explains that this is just the way things are done in this household. Think about it, whenever you laugh in such situations, doesn't a tiny part of you feel amazed and sort of guilty that you're laughing at all?
If Komal wasn't laughing so much and if Krishna hadn't said 'Aur lagao!', it wouldn't have had as much impact and it also means that while it may seem repulsive behaviour to us, the fact that these people laugh at it reveals that they actually don't know any better since this is simply the way that they exist
In screenwriting terms, I've sincerely come to admire this show's writers - it's a pretty daring gamble to play since most Indian soaps are happy to present people simply as either saints or sinners but it's a gamble that's clearly paying off 👏👏👏
