Chandra Nandini was visually better but the script was as shitty as this show or maybe even shittier. It's true Bindusara and Ashok's relationship was really tensed and Dharma lost favour as his favourite wife. But yes Karuwaki was not princess of Kalinga like she often made. The myth started from SRK's movie. No contemporary source of Ashok says Karuwaki was from Kalinga. Queen's edict only says Karuwaki was his second queen and mother of Tivala. Literary sources calls Asandhimitra as his favourite wife and chief queen not Karuwaki. If that inscription wasn't found no one would know Karuwaki existed.

Exactly and I don't understand this fascination with makers to always alter Mauryan Dynasty's real history. When they cast Rakshanda as Helena I thought they would show Bindusara and Helena of real age like real history. Yes it's true, Bindu and his step mom Helena were in same age group. Helena was one of the most beautiful Princesses of the era. Now they have replaced Asandhimitra's place with Karuwaki. Asandhimitra was a dearly beloved queen of Ashok. Karu had no place in front of Asandhi.

My review of the show:-

1- No foundation of the plot, they randomly introduced characters like Helena and Diana without properly explaining them. Probably they thought everyone would Google a out them. 🤣

2- The relationship of Bindusara and Ashok is historically accurate but not this Kundali part. Bindusara disliked Ashok because he wasn't handsome and later his popularity became a threat to the position of Sushima, Crown Prince and he thought that probably Ashok wanted to dethrone him and kill Sushima. Therefore the relationship was Highly complexed. He sent Ashok to Taxila but without weapons so that he could perish there but he became successful. So the complex relationship is accurate but it wasn't due to some Kundali.

3- Sushim's mom is shown as Diana who is called Greek but has Viking hair. 🤣 Her hair are like Cotton Candy. 🤣 Sushima wasn't half Greek. He just can't be but as the origins of his mom is not know so it gives space for creative liberty but his mom would have been a princess or a really prestigious family to be his Crown Prince.

4- Editing is shitty and costumes are inaccurate and hilarious.

5- Acting wise Senior actors performed better than younger ones. Also no scene between CGM-Helena and CGM-Ashok. Why the hell? Helena was CGM's favourite queen and still no scene between them. And why the hell Helena is blonde as she was half Greek and half Persian.

6- Why the hell they didn't cast siblings of Bindusara? 😒

In just two episodes I pulled my hair, and the sad part is some duffers actually start believing such shows and also fights with others by calling it historical facts like some idiots really think Justin was a son of Chandragupta and they think Durdhara was really daughter of Nanda when she was not. Durdhara and Nand Nandini were two different ladies 😂 they are themselves promoting it as itihas which was changed 🤣

Watching only for Adnan Khan as I LOVED him in Katha Ankahee and this led me to watch Prachand Ashoka. I read the history of Ashoka online and being from Mauritius, even I believe if I did more research and if I were into film making, I'd have made a more historically accurate with 85% accuracy also given on the clothes they wore at that time. I don't know about that time's food, but oh well, I'd show it if I could (am a Taurus sun, so.... 😂😅♉).

I feel sad for Adnan though as he's being wasted on this 1 and even he seemed disappointed and angry during the promos. But seems like he's enjoying some of the horse riding, action and learning more shudh hindi or even some Sanskrit. I don't know for how long he signed it for, but I'm sure it'll be 3 to 6 months of running time at least!
