I'm asking this question in the context of Saachi's pursuits of her dad's dreams .. is it possible that his dream would have changed today and maybe even he wouldn't have followed his dream if there were other priorities.
So does it make sense for Saachi to sacrifice everything for a decade old dream?

👏 very nice post.. and valid and thought provoking
Its not whether dreams or old or new...
Its more that those dreams are relevant or not and will they give you meaning and motivation to life or not...
For a student aspiring to become a scientist or astronaut can be a dream of his parents... but if that gives him motivation, he can pursue it. but if he is interested in music and they thrust a dream of scientist on him then he should not...
so in this case, its not whether they are Saachi's dad's dreams or not and they are old or not, Saachi enjoys doing this and she associates herself with these farms and jams... so she has to pursue this... she gets motivation to pursue these dreams because they are handed over to her from her dad😊

Excellent post...

Like Bhanu said... it doesn't matter if the dream is old or new. Does it matter today...? Well, to Saachi.. yes, it does. After her parents death... with all the responsibilities that came on to Saachi, she knows and realizes the farm was/is her father's dream. After their death, she made it her own dream...

Also... this way, she feels closest to her dad. She has kept her dad alive in her life by pursuing his dream.

It differs...if u look at the farm as just a property...then it is easier to discard it /sale it.But if emotions r connected to it...if u relate it to your identity,if that farm holds all your childhood memories and if the farm gives u solace where u can feel your parents giving you strength and feel the presence of your parents...then it is worth a million dollar and those dreams r worth living for today also.In Sanchi's case also her uncle said the same thing. He said he would have advised her to sale the farm...but as she has kept his father alive thru this farm,he knows how important it is to her.

I guess you are all right. The value of dreams is to be seen from the eyes of one who is dreaming it.
But in saachi's case it appears to me that they have become the ball and chain around her ankle as she lives in the dungeons of loneliness. And that is sad.

Its her way of keeping her parents alive.. Doing what they intended to do.

And dreams dont stop being dreams until they are fulfilled/ achieved. How does it matter if they're new or old?
