Why are there no gay couples on NB?

There is nothing wrong with being gay and I am sure they can rock the dance show

It would give a good boost to gay rights in India as well

(like a certain actor did with his answering questions...classic!)

BTW, I am not sure if NB openly bans gay couples but never seen one on the show

I don't know if NB bans homosexual couples, but I think its couples themselves who are reluctant to come out and do dance shows since homosexuality is still very taboo in India. Moreover, didn't India ban homosexual marriages or something? I remember reading that in the news and felt quite shocked. If that's true, then I highly doubt homosexual couples would feel very inspired or encouraged to come out about it.

Yes India did ban "being gay"

Which is absurd!

India, at one time, was sexually open and aware

The Victorians came and destroyed Indian culture and reinforced their stupidity

The whole law banning gay sex or marriage is from the British Code and its just plain stupid, since gay marriage has become legal elsewhere

Why India holds onto the values thrown down their throat by the British, is puzzling to me.

Yeah, I agree. We just have to look in our historical epics to find examples of people who were neither woman nor male, or heterosexual. For example, eunuchs were first found in India and seen as an abnormality by the British when they colonized India. They began the practice of mistreating eunuchs and unfortunately, it still continues in India.

The bold part. I agree with Janaki on this. Its the couples themselves who will be reluctant on coming out of the closet.

well they dont have to have numerous gay couples

they can start off with at least one gay couple.!

NB has contestants who are in the entertainment industry..there are openly gay people in the Btown..which encompasses directors, producers, singers, dancers, actors, designers etc etc
