Three husky words were all it took for Roshni to feel flustered, and out of breath. The way he had given her a parting look and slightly leaned in closer to her. She could almost smell his cologne and his familiar smell, in that brief moment. She had to put in all her will-power and not drift closer to him, or even kiss him. She must be insane to think that way. They were almost caught today. Shivani would have found out what her real motive was and who Nikhil really was.
What was he to her?
That question made her pause and think a little. 'He's just your best-friend'
that annoying little voice spoke up in her head, rolling her eyes.
Roshni was slightly irked. Nevertheless she decided to go and talk to him, about the plan. As soon as Shivani stepped inside the bathroom, she rushed out into the corridor. But Nikhil had gone by then. She texted him.
I need to speak to you!'
No reply.
She grew impatient, when he didn't reply after 15 minutes she decided to go to his room. He had mentioned once that the staff stayed on the fourth floor. She told Shivani, that she was going to get some fresh air and quickly headed to the fourth floor. The corridor was dark. A small bulb flickered in the distance, casting an eerie glow to the surroundings.
She padded softly down the corridor and checked the room numbers.
417. That's what he had said. She tried in vain to make out in the faint light. Suddenly she froze when she spotted the familiar curly hair-style.
Gauri.
Roshni froze. She couldn't let Gauri see her on the staff floor. She tried to retort back towards her dorm, but accidently ended up knocking over a flower vase. SHIT. She was screwed now. Gauri would definitely see her.
Who's there?' she heard Gauri bellow down the corridor as she advanced towards where Roshni stood, exposed.
Suddenly she was pulled inside by someone.
Roshni didn't scream, because she couldn't risk herself being discovered by her arch enemy. But she didn't refrain from struggling. She was about to bite her captor's hand.
Shh! Its me' Nikhil said, cupping his hand over Roshni's mouth. Roshni stopped struggling when she recognised her saviour. Her mouth had gone dry from the sight before her. Nikhil stood hovering over her, shirtless and in his dark jeans. The dim light in the highlighting his fine sculpted body. His toned chest was in full display and she couldn't tear her eyes away from it. She gulped nervously.
Nikhil smirked. He brought his face closer to hers and Roshni's sharp intake of breath showed the effect that he was having on her. Her eyes automatically shut, much to the annoyance of her practical nature. He whispered huskily in her ears.

No. Nope. No ways. All sorts of denials were running over her mind, which refused to coordinate with her actions and she ended up, slowly nodding her, head.
She realised that they were just inches apart. She noticed his very plump lips and for a minute she was overcome with an immense struggle of emotions. If she stayed a minute longer in the same position. She would end up kissing him. She knew it.
But she had no escape. If she went back to her dorm, Gauri would see her. If she stayed back here, things wouldn't be in her Control. She was used to having control over everything that she did in life. But at this moment she was fighting a lost battle.
Lately Nikhil seemed to have this strange effect on her. Or maybe it had been there all the time and she only saw it now. She slowly her eyes meet his, and she regretted her move. His eyes were a darker shade of brown, something between coffee and dark chocolate.
I needed to...talk to you' Roshni managed to croak out. I need to talk to you too' he said, his voice low and deep. I need to talk to you about our next plan' she continued slowly, measuring her words. And I need to talk to you about us'.
But before I talk, I really need to do this, Roshni, just so that I know that your mine, even if you kill me for it'
Before she had the chance of processing what was happening, Nikhil's soft lips were on hers, gently kissing her. It was like her body was programmed to respond to his kiss. She shut her logical and practical side of the brain, and for once let her heart lead her into this. Smiling into the kiss she reflected upon his words, 'your, mine'.
