Can I do this??

"I have a deal for you," Zoya had blurted and at the same time mentally trying to voice out her request.

Humaira had looked sceptical. Not willing to back off, Zoya had finally formulated her request. "Listen, it has nothing to do with money. I want the Sheikh Villa; I owe it to someone. And I'm willing to give you what I've inherited from my father."

When Zoya had seen Humaira hesitating, she had convinced her that she would not insist until Humaira had contacted a lawyer of her wish.

Zoya - "Our family lawyer Uncle Feroz had estimated the Siddiqui mansion to be seven times more than the Shiekh Villa. Look. I know it looks fishy but I swear I'll do anything you want to clear your doubts. We'll take all the time we want and you can back out anytime you feel pressured or cornered."

Humaira had asked Ayaan his opinion and he had suggested Humaira to sell the house to Zoya and be done with it. The couple did not need the house but definitely the cash; Ayaan Khan being a hard-working self-employed person with a small garment shop in Sikanderabad

Zoya had disagreed.

Zoya - "No, I want you to have the Siddiqui mansion. I have so many bad memories that would last a lifetime to forget anyway. And besides Mr. Siddiqui had stolen your mother's money too and so it is only right for me to compensate you back."

Humaira - "But Zoya, from what you've told me you've got only the mansion from Gaffur Siddiqui's empire. It wouldn't be fair for you to be the one paying his debts. What will you do if you share all your inheritance?"

Zoya had secretly smiled; if only Humaira knew how rich Zoya was.

"I'm touched that you are concerned for me but don't worry I have enough to sustain," Zoya said evasively without elaborating too much. "And besides it's not about the money. I am trying to set what my Abbu did - our Abbu did. I know it would never undo the past and it's only a small attempt but I'm trying on my part."

Humaira - "Zoya, let me talk to the lawyer Firoz you've told me. I want his opinion on the whole affair."

"Sure, Humaira. Please speak to him I don't want to loose you for some stupid misunderstanding," Zoya said but had felt a pang of disappointment. What if Humaira refused to give her back the mansion? How would she repay Asad back?

Days later, they had met Uncle Feroz who had not approved of the negotiations but Zoya had stubbornly maintained her initial demand. She wanted the victim families to share what the man had stolen as part of his redemption. Uncle Feroz and Humaira had both tried to dissuade her from the deal which they had thought foolish and unnecessary.

"Zoya," Uncle Feroz had protested. "This is not a good idea. Do you think that by returning back the property, it would make a difference?"

"Uncle, I know it will make no difference," Zoya refuted back. "But it is the right thing to do. For me this feels so right. Please let me try to atone his sins by sharing his wealth to the persons he had victimized. I don't need the money anyway."

Finally, with fervent determination, Zoya managed to convince them both that it was the right thing to do. Humaira relented wishing that she knew how much Zoya was willing to lose.

"It's only money," Zoya replied in a nonchalant way and was awarded a grin from Humaira.

When Shereen had hugged her after knowing that she had given Humaira the Siddiqui mansion, Zoya felt lighter in a self-righteous way. Zoya was glad that she had done what her heart had dictated and had been happy to be able to help them.

With the same intention, Zoya had enquired every detail about the loss incurred by Dilshaad. Not only had Mr. Gaffur robbed the mansion but also embezzled Dilshaad's shares Sheikh Company which had been quite colossal and had dissolved it into Siddiqui enterprise.

So, Zoya also gave Asad her twenty percent shares of Siddiqui enterprise to settle her monetary debt to Asad once and for all. It was the least Zoya could do.
