Ravi to campaign with Rahul Gandhi

The Bhojpuri actor will tour Amethi with the Gandhi scion to campaign for the Congress party

Even though he prefers not to call himself a political activist, Bhojpuri actor and Bigg Brother contestant Ravi Kissen will be joining Rahul Gandhi on a tour of Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Talking about his plans, he says, "I've received numerous offers from various political parties, but I decided to go with the Congress.

I believe in their ideology and believe Rahul Gandhi is the right candidate to look after the hopes and aspirations of today's youth. I will be going to Amethi with him and will ask people to vote for the Congress."

Does this mean we will see him contest for elections in the near future? "Not at all. I am an actor and that's my profession. I don't have any political ambitions," he says.

During his meeting with Rahul Gandhi, Ravi plans to take up the issue of the burgeoning Bhojpuri industry. "There are a couple of issues related to the Bhojpuri industry that need to be addressed. I want to champion the cause of the Bhojpuri film industry."

On the work front, Ravi is currently in Gujrat shooting for a film with Nagma, Manoj Tiwari and Bhagyashree.

After that, he will start work on Ekta Kapoor's Sholay that sees him in the role of Gabbar Singh. "I am very excited about this film. I will be shooting for it this month," says the actor.
