"Stop it!", Jodha giggled as Jalal kissed her. It had been just a month since Jodha and Jalal had entered this phase of their relationship. It took a while for them to profess their love for each other. Jalal had taken it a little too far with Benazir and with Jodha not being the one who easily forgave, they had a lot of work to do before they could even get back to that relation they shared before Maham had read out the "reformed" version of Jodha's letter to Jalal.
Jodha had realized just in time that Benazir was a vishakanya sent to kill Jalal. If Jodha wouldn't have managed to piece together all the facts, Jalal would have been long gone by now. It still gave her jitters when she thought about what would have happened if she hadn't found out on time. Jalal didn't leave any chance to taunt Jodha by talking about Benazir. Jodha knew Jalal was doing this just to get back at her. He even went to the extent of announcing her to be his next begum. When did a shehenshah ever marry his servant?! Ammi Jaan did all she could to stop Jalal. But when did Jalal ever listen when he had already made up his mind? It was just the night before their nikah that Jodha got another message from Sharifuddin asking her to meet him. She hated Sharifuddin. But she was glad that she decided to meet him that day as he helped her save Jalal's life. He told her about Abu Mali sending a vishakanya to kill Jalal. It was then that Jodha remembered the letter that Benazir sent to her mom. Realising that Benazir would kill Jalal the moment they are together, she rushed to Jalal and told him everything about Benazir. Jalal didn't believe her in the beginning. It was only when Jodha told him about the hidden message and what Sharifuddin had told her, that he believed her. He sentenced Benazir to death.
Oh, how can Jodha ever forget what Rahim did to Jalal and her relationship. It's true that children really are God's gift. Rahim thought the letter torn by Jalal made quite a jigsaw puzzle! He loved playing with Jalal. So once he found the letter he ran to Jalal. Since Rahim was learning how to read and write, Jalal asked him to read what was in the letter. It was then that Jalal realized that his Badi Ammi had lied to him. Maham was a very smooth talker. But this was a situation that she just couldn't get out of. Jalal was furious with her. He banished her from the Mughal empire. She was his Badi Ammi after all. He just couldn't get himself to sentence her to death.
The first thing that Jalal did after sending away Badi Ammi was to go apologise to Jodha. Jodha was obviously livid. It took a lot of pacifying for her to forgive him. After weeks of wooing Jodha finally confessed her love for Jalal, a feeling that Jalal was more than happy to reciprocate. Jodha and Jalal had just fixed Shivani's marriage with Mirza Hakim. The entire palace was abuzz with the preparations for their wedding.
"It has been quite a while since we had some alone time don't you think Jodha Begum?", Jalal winked. Jodha blushed a deep red as Jalal trapped her against the wall "Forgive me, but I have been very busy for the preparations for your brother's wedding". Jodha moaned as Jalal kissed along her jaw "You're not gonna go till you get what you want will you?!". "Nope", Jalal smirked. Jodha would be lying to herself if she said she wasn't enjoying this. She couldn't believe that she had fallen so head-over-heels in love with someone she hated not quite long ago. "Well, I have a lot of work to do,unlike you!". "You're my begum. You don't have to do anything. Everything has been taken care of by your daasis", Jalal hummed as he went lower to suckle on that spot on her neck that drove her crazy. Jodha whimpered.
Every time Jalal touched her, she felt herself losing control and craving for more. "Looks like someone doesn't need much convincing to stay here with me after all", Jalal smiled wickedly as he knew exactly what he was doing to her. "Stop", Jodha breathed as Jalal's hands found their way around her body and drew her impossibly close. "Not in a million years Jodha begum", Jalal said as he leaned in to kiss her. Jodha sighed as she felt herself give in to the kiss. She had to admit, Jalal was a hell of a kisser! She threw her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. She ran her hands through his hair. Jalal groaned as he pushed Jodha harder against the wall. "You are gonna be the death of me, woman" Jalal gasped as he broke the kiss for some air. Jodha flushed as she realized that they had just made out outside the privacy of their bedrooms.
"Can't get enough of me, Jodha begum?", teased Jalal as Jodha took him by his hand and led him to her private chambers. "Either you can stand there talking, or kiss me. Your choice!". Jalal's eyes darkened with desire as he heard his really shy wife talk so brazenly. "You brought this on yourself Jodha begum! Don't ask me to stop now", Jalal growled as he closed the distance. Their second kiss of the day left them gasping for air. Sure, they had shared a lot of kisses but this one, was different. "Whoa! That was..", Jodha stuttered as she found herself on the bed. "Amazing?", Jalal provided as he lowered himself on her. "Yeah",blushed Jodha.
"No no.. You are not giving me a hickey mister", Jodha warned as Jalal sucked on her neck. "You know I love marking you, don't you Jodha begum?!", Jalal smiled against her skin. "Your brother's wedding is right around the corner. How am I supposed to explain the hickey if anyone notices?!". "What's there to explain?! Everyone knows what happens between a husband and a wife!", Jalal winked mischievously. Jodha glared playfully, "Nope! You are not giving me a hickey that's all!". "Hmph okay", Jalal pouted. Jodha laughed as she looked at Jalal. He could really be adorable at times. "You are such a big baby aren't you?!", said Jodha as she pacified him with a kiss.
Jalal grinned. He loved everything about her. He couldn't believe that he had put her through so much trouble and yet here she was, loving him. It had taken a hell of an apology from him to get her to forgive him. "What's going on in your mind?", Jodha asked as she stroked his hair. "Just that I am so lucky to have you as my wife", said Jalal. "Hey, well I'm lucky to have you as my husband too", Jodha smiled. "I'm sor..", Jalal started as she cut him off, "No more apologies. You've apologized enough. It's a thing of our past now. Let's just forget it and move on". Jalal leaned so that their foreheads touched. "I love you so much, Jodha begum". "I love you too Shehenshah".
The next day morning, Jodha was up and helping with the wedding preparations. "Where were you yesterday Jodha beta? I wanted you to help me pick out necklaces for Shivani", said Ammi Jaan. "Uh.. I had some other work Ammi Jaan", stuttered Jodha trying really hard not to blush. Jalal who was overhearing their conversation decided to have a little fun. "Oh yes, ammi jaan. Jodha begum had some really important work with me", chuckled Jalal mischievously. Jodha was completely flustered. Ammi Jaan understanding what was going on said, "Oh in that case, your work with Jalal is always most important Jodha beta". Jalal laughed as he saw the horrified expression on Jodha's face, "Shabba Khair Jodha Begum". Oh how she Jodha hated Jalal right now. Giving him one last glare she went back to work. She smiled as she realized she could never stay mad at him. She loved him too much for that.
