Retro Caf – A blast from the past Aniversary Special

One year back a group of determined dedicated enthusiasts of India Forums set about to give shape to a dream and make it a reality. They launched a show named "Retro Caf – A blast from the past" ,to pay tribute to the musical legends of bollywood who have dedicated their lives to create songs for every moods and moments to appease our soul. A show since then that has become our main attraction, a show for which we wait eagerly every wednesday night, come rain or shine and it has never disappointed us. This week it will be the anniversary special of this very show.

Any idea who the celebrity of this week for the anniversary special will be ? Can you guess whose compositions we will be hearing ?

Let me give a clue.It is the same person whom we had dedicated the first episode of the show. Jee ha ! I am talking about none other than melody maker, the legend - the evergreen RD Burman whom we lovingly call Panchamda! 👏👏👏

For every mood , every moment and every occassion in our lives , there is atleast one Panchamda composition that will fit in. Whether it is funky songs, groovy numbers, soul shattering sad songs,happy family songs, cabaret numbers or heart stopping romantic melodies- Panchamda has it all in his bag.

Let us have another memorable Retro episode, something we can cherish for a long time.

There is a goldmine awaiting us,ready to be exploited. Please tell us which songs of his you want played in this special episode.

Given below is a list of his songs that was played in the First Retro Cafe show featured on him. Please do not include these songs in your list.

Please remember that we have to send these to the Retro team by Sunday.So post your list of desired songs as soon as possible. The last date for posting your song list is Saturday, i.e.7th April,11.55 PM IST.

Don't forget to tune in to the Anniversary Special-RD Burman Show on Wednesday 11th April at 11 PM IST to hear this week's Retro chicken's dedication and also to find out the name of the winner of the Retro Quiz..and offcourse the main attraction- to drown in Panchamda's magical melodies.

I tried shortlisting 5-10 songs that was not played in the first episode. But just could not decide which 5 ! So here is my list...I hope atleast a few from this list will be played...😳

I also love Ghar aaja ghir aaye badara saawariya from Chote Nawab, the very first song composed by RB Burman officially.

Koi ladka mujhe kal raat sapne mein mila (Seeta Aur Geeta) is a lovely song. Typical RD fare.
