Actually, both names are used, and the original text uses Hidimba for the brother, and Hidimbaa for the sister. Using Hidimbi makes the referencing easier, when spoken, but if you see KMG, it's even worse, w/ Hidimva being used for both brother & sister
On Draupadi, well, they can show her birth this week b4 they get to Hidimba. She doesn't have to be shown in the last moment. Just like in AS Ramayan, they showed parallel tracks of Rama & Sita growing up in Ayodhya & Mithila, they can have parallel tracks for Ekachakra and Panchala, and maybe even Hastinapur.
