hey guys...
the show clearly outlines the difference between small and big town lifestyle and people. zain's mother's attitude in particular towards aalia's mom and Bhopal in general is one of disinterest and dislike...she doesn't like her sister in law nor the idea of her son or any member of her family going to Bhopal. but my confusion is why? if its the fact that she doesn't like small town people, then why on earth did she marry Usman, who also is a small town boy that's moved 2 the city and become rich, but had he not done that she'd be living in that very same small town with her husband. 😕
does money really have that much power which causes people who become rich to all of a sudden forget their roots and dislike people who aren't as rich as them? aalia's family are very loving, so I don't see any reason as 2 why zain's mother would dislike them apart from the mere fact that they aren't as rich as she is. but does social status really matter? I mean since when was relationships formed and fulfilled on the basis of ur social status and bank balance??
one thing that struck me was the comment made by shazia about small town girls being very clever and trying to trap city's rich boys...without realising the simple fact that her own father in law was a small town boy... so why the sudden dislike of small town people...? becos ur NOW rich...also zain's mum was quick to say "check-in at the hotel ur rooms booked etc" which I found was a big insult to aalia's family... indirectly her intention was of taunting aalia's family for not having that "sophisticated" environment for her son to live in comfortably...which was so wrong on her behalf, becos isn't life all about compromising at times... im sure if aalia's family came 2 stay with them, and they said we want to sit on the floor and eat, she'd not be happy with this and would be the first to say "in our house we sit at the table etc" and im sure aalia's family would go happily adjust to how zain's mom wants...so why can't zain's family do the same? respect aalia's family's traditions and adjust accordingly.
I know its a show and basically fiction but I feel this social status difference does reflect reality to an extent... becos im sure these kind of things would be happening in real life too...
