Vikas Mankatala: Fitness and Health

Vikas Mankatala who plays the very manly Hooda in Left Right Left tells us about his obsession with staying fit and just how he is making his way to being just like his fitness icon Sylvester Stallone.

Diet
I'm very diet conscious. I avoid fried foods, junk food and fatty foods. I don't have things which are full of ghee and butter and I try to keep away from sweets. I don't like eating food that has less salt in it- I can't stand it. I have an ice box in my vanity van where I make sure to keep coconut water which I sip on throughout the day. Coconut water is a very healthy drink. It keeps me fresh and fights against dehydration.

If there is one food I can't resist is Rajmah Chawal made by my mom. I eat everything which my mom makes. Whenever I go to Delhi she makes Rajmah Chawal especially for me.

My breakfast is like a king. My morning meal includes low calorie sandwiches made of brown bread, milk shakes and juices- I prefer spinach juice.

My lunch is like a queen. I like having chicken cooked in less oil. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I avoid chicken. I take milk and baked beans instead as it is very good for health. On these days I generally have vegetable soup with a lot of baby corn in it.

My dinner is like a beggar. My meal is very light. I like to have only juices at dinnertime and I mostly have Real Activ's mixed fruit juice.

I'm an exercise freak
Whenever I get the time from my shooting I go to the gym (Power House, Juhu) and work out. My work out lasts for about 45 minutes. In addition to this in my spare time I do warm up and abdominal exercises. I work out on my abdomen for about an hour and a half. I'm very proud of my upper body. I like my arm muscles and my abs though I feel that my calf muscles are not properly toned.

Vikas's Top 3 tips to a perfect body:
1. Avoid junk food
2. Eat Fruits
3. Work out everyday through minor exercises like swimming
