I recently read an interview where Salman Khan said that he believes that massy masala films will soon fade in popularity. It's interesting that Salman Khan out of all people said that mainly because he was the one that made these types of films so popular in the industry today due to the success of Wanted and Dabanng. However, I personally hope to god that what he said is true. I understand that there are people who want to go out and watch a fun film, but that doesn't mean that they have to watch the no-brainer commercial films that many lazy producers/directors are making today. There are many entertaining films in Hollywood for example that are fun to watch but also have a good story as the backbone of the film. If Indian film makers could figure out a way to use that formula in the films it would be good because I for one am bored with these repetitive masala films. Anyways no offence to you if you are somebody that loves masala films, just stating my opinion that's all. So what do you guys think, will masala films go out of fashion over time or will they continue to rule the box office for years to come?
