Avantika's death while donating a kidney is very wrong

I just read an article on this forum, which said that Avantika will loose her life while donating her kidney to Preethi. Now, on a channel like Star Plus, where the show's are supposed to have elements of 'nayi-soch', if they show, that while donating a kidney Avantika passes away, then what message will the general audience get!? They will think that after donating a kidney they won't be able to lead a normal life, which is not at all true. You can still have a normal life with one kidney. But since, this thing will be shown on TV (and especially on a channel like Star Plus) , the public will never want to do such a thing in their life, which isn't good for the society.

I feel it is a very wrong thing to show Avantika's death while donating a kidney. I would request the CV's not to kill Avantika like that. They could show an accident or something else like BP problem, I guess.

Yeah I completely agree with you on it! It is scientifically proven that a person can survive and live a good life with one kidney. I think it is just wrong. I understand Manasi wants to move on they could have shown a replacement but I am sure viewers would have not liked it because Manasi cant be replaced she made Avantika what she is now. However, I agree on your final point that they could have shown something different. Also, they could have shown her going abroad but I guess it wouldn't really make sense. I am deeply saddened with SP because they have done this in the past with other shows and not looked at the situation properly and shown it logically.

Looks like they needed to speed it up because Mansi had made her decision of leaving and this was the only way the could fit in Avantikas death.

But they are showing that she has BP problems too...

Well as far as I remember Avantika didn't have any BP problems before Preetis kidney failure case...

Very illogical...she shouldn't have been allowed to donate a kidney if she was unwell...

Yeah this is giving a very wrong message...especially when its such a loved character like Avantika too...so many people looked up to Avantikas character and took so much from her...

Very well agreed with your post.

But I'm guessing that there was nothing else that the show makers could bring up so soon, showing Mansi's exit. They might have not wanted it to look fake, hence this step.

BUT, optionally you can email / tweet (twitter) / call them to voice your opinion, because of course it's a very legit and logical one.

Yes I completely agree with you. (By the way lovely post Tragedy)! I never thought like this before but I agree with you. The Star Plus network channel is very popular (which must probably mean that PKDHMMPP is a very popular show). Once viewers watch the episode of PKDHMMPP where it is shown Avantika dying, this will make people feel that if they are in the same situation as Avantika, then they might not want to donate their own kidney to their loved ones or relatives. This however, is a very bad message that CV'S are showing the us (the audience) because this will make us think that we will suffer if we donate one kidney to our loved ones. Now we all know that a human has two kidneys and that you can survive with one kidney. In real life Avantika (Manasi Salvi) has quit the show PKDHMMPP but if CV'S wanted to exit her character, they should have like you said, made her meet up with an accident or something like that instead of making her die by donating her kidney to Preeti. The only reason Avantika had died after sacrificing one of her kidneys to Preeti is that she was becoming older and at the time she was very ill. We all know that one can survive with a kidney. I know many people who survived with one kidney. I hope that the audience/ viewers do not take this bad message too seriously and donate their kidneys to their loved ones so their loved ones can be safe.

I think SP is VERY irresponsible to show that Avanthika dies due to complications from donating a kidney.

No one with high blood pressure issues will be allowed to donate a kidney I think. But let's say they did...then is it is a given that they WILL die? This is giving people a VERY wrong impression of what can happen while donating an organ. People will be further discouraged by such depictions!!

I am extremely disappointed!!

I think it would have been more realistic and a good exit if they showed her in a car accident before the kidney transplant, that she dies but is kept on machines to use the kidney.
therefore u get good message of donating is good as u can't argue that the kidney transplant had anything to do with her death.
She could also have something like a brain hemmorage as that is a problem which can kill a young person fast. it is also something which may not show up in the tests done to see if she is a good donor as people often die of these things without warning.

Under the circumstances, this is the best option.
