So why doesn't Kareena like Aishwarya?!

I'm a tiny bit confused by this part of KWK when Ranbir asked Kareena which of Aishwarya's fims she likes. Is there a reason she doesn't like her or soemthing. I figured out that Ranbir was making a lot of off-hand comments about her exes and people in general. But I haven't really read a lot on their rivalry. I've read Kareena vs PZ and PC but Rani and Aish seemed like the only contemporaries she neve had a tiff with or something.

It can't be the Devdas thingy b/c she was pissed at SLB. She seemed cool during the Heroine thingy. Any articles or anything from the past hinting at her dislike?! Maybe I'm over-reading it but when Ranbir asked that question there's was a certain undertone to it that made it seem like Kareena doesn't really like her work or her.

The same reason she said "talent sustains" when talking about Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee, she doesn't like anybody that is competition or a threat to her.

How is Ash a threat to her? They are not contemporary... Ash is older generation.

Who knows why she doesn't like her, Kareena can be confusing at times.

Kareena and Aish havent been contemporaries for AGES.

By the time Kareena was on the rise, Aish was on the decline.

I think the reason Ranbir asked is coz he chose a random actress from the early 2000s to question her.

He could've asked Rani, Preity, etc.

Aish probably was the most prominent on his mind.

Ash took time off in 2010. Hardly on the decline then and hardly AGES ago. Ash debuted in 1998. Kareena was what? 2000? They were up for the same films a lot. They were contemporaries.

And there was obviously a reason Ranbir chose Aishwarya

Kareena doesn't need a reason. I don't think she likes anyone.

Aishwarya is prettier than Kareena and she would not be able to stand that.

Kareena is in awe of Aishwarya, there is respect and sometimes she even lets it out

But somewhere down there is jealousy too, she has made quite a few digs about Ash but Ash never retaliated. Ash is more beautiful, more popular, got bigger films etc. She always wanted to emulate her (she did Tashan only because she wanted to do an Ash in Dhoom 2), then saying she won't have kids for four years after marriage, she said a lot of things, where she indirectly conveyed Ash is her inspiration.

Another reason could be because of Karishma. Her sister has faced a lot of shit in her life after her marriage, and had she been Bachchan Bahu, she could've been as happy as Ash is now. So may be she thinks Ash stole what was her sister's.

Yes she doesn't openly like her but she doesn't dislike her the way she does someone like Priyanka. That's for sure.

Doubt it.

Not the pretty bit. But in general, her contemporary bit would make her competitive. I dont think Kareena really liked any contemporary apart from Rani Mukherjee. And that coz she knew her from before she entered films.

She "admires" actresses now though, but only after they give something worthwhile.

Like she praises Priyanka, but only after Saath Khoon Maaf and Fashion happened. Last season of KWK, she said "I like talented people, so I like Priyanka. I'm a Priyanka fan"

She praised Vidya and called her the true hero of 2011 instantly

And this season, she has taken to appreciating Deepika, when before she wouldnt think twice.

So really, she does praise when needs be.
