Oh that's for sure. He's doing everything on purpose. He wants to be the shining knight-in-armour until Shikha and her parents decide that he's the right one.
As for Shikha's "death". I doubt that'll be the ending. The real part will probably come after that. Maybe Shikha will come back like in Khoon Bhari Maang with a vengeance and ruin Sameer (if he is the murderer).
