CHAPTER 51
MUTHULINGAM'S CABIN:
Karthik and Raji are seated in front of Mr.Muthulingam. He asks Raji some questions and says that she needs to relax before recording her statement.
Raji: sir, idhukkappuram court, case nu alaiya vendi irukkumaa?
Karthik gets very disturbed with this question. He realized what she has been going through. So much of pain in that one single question and it shattered him into pieces. The next few seconds he tried die hard to overcome his emotional constrain. Tears filled his eyes, he turns the otherside, wipes his tears and gently pats and embraces Raji's hand that he was holding with his other hand.
Muthulingam: illai maa... idhukku appuram neenga vara thevaiye illai... DIG sir idhai private case aah book panna solli irukkaaru... Private cases naa... adhuleyum niraiya ragangal undu...
Raji and Karthik look at him eagerly... he continues...
Muthulingam: ungaloda case format vera... adhaavadhu culprit caught RED HANDED... So... unga statement oda ellaa evidences um serthu FIR file panni court la submit panniduvom ... Karthik takes the glass of water on the table and makes Raji drink it. She drinks some and says "podhum", he drinks the remaining water and keeps the empty glass on the table.
Raji looks at Karthik and he assures to proceed.
Muthulingam starts recording as Raji tells How Kaushik misbehaved with her and continues by holding Karthik's hand even tighter..
After 20 minutes... It's all over... the statement is recorded...
Muthulingam: neenga DIG sir oda cabin la wait pannunga sir... ippo madam sonnadhai naan written la type panni eduthuttu varen. madam adhula sign pannittaanga nnaa ... mudinjidhu...
Karthik: OK... Sir... Thank you... vaa Raji...
Raji: romba thanks sir...
Muthulingam: enakku edhukku maa thanks ellaam... idhu ennoda duty...neenga sir cabin la wait pannunga ... naan innoru 15 mins la varen...
Both of them get up and come to Mahesh's cabin...
INSIDE MAHESH'S CABIN:
Mahesh is busy on his phone instructing someone...
Viswanathan, Vishnu, Madhan and Lakshmi were calmly seated.
All of them look upon as Karthik and Raji enter.
Raji goes and sits beside Lakshmi on the couch.
Karthik sits with Madhan and Vishnu...
Mahesh finishes his phone call and looks at them.
Mahesh: Raji... inga vaa maa...
Raji comes and Karthik joins her and both of them sit in front of Mahesh...
Mahesh: Statement la sign panni aachaa?
Raji: illa sir...
Karthik: adhu vandhu... Statement record panni aachu sir... Muthulingam sir type panni eduthuttu varen.. nnu sonnaaru... adhu varaikkum inga wait panna sonnaaru...
Mahesh: OK... Raji... naan onnu solluven... keppiyaa?
Raji: sollunga sir...
Mahesh: unnoda kashtam enakku puriyudhu... aanaa... naan solradhai gavanamaa kelu..
Everyone including Viswanathan become curious and look at Mahesh keenly...

Karthik: aamaa sir...

Kaushik ku paninju poradhai thavira ... she would've had no other choice... Raji: sari sir...
Viswanathan: well said Mahesh...
Mahesh smiles... and asks "shall we have some coffee?"
Everyone nods a yes. He orders for coffee..
Muthulingam comes in and takes Raji's Signature on the written statement and leaves.
A constable comes with coffee and serves it to all...
All of them feel relaxed after having coffee...
Viswanathan: Mahesh... anything else?
Mahesh: so, ready to leave?
Viswanathan: aamaa daa... vera enna?
Mahesh: innum oru important task irukku...
He dials his intercom and says "Come in..."
A police inspector brings a person who's face was covered with a black mask and who's hands were tied behind with handcuffs.
The inspector removes the mask and Kaushik gets disturbed as he had to face light at once...
Kaushik is shocked to see all of them.
Mahesh :Raji... your victim...
Karthik moves towards Kaushik but Raji pulls him back and says "un kitta adi vaangara thagudhi kooda avanukku kidaiyaadhu... ivan ellaam oru aalu nnu adichu nee unnai asinga paduthikkaadhe."
Karthik is still furious but keeps silent...
Raji goes near Kaushik and says...
"Enna daa ippadi aagum nu ethir parkalai illai... graamathu ponnu nnaa enna venum naalum pannalaam nu assaaltaa oru dhairyam... naan bayandhu Karthik ah vittudu nnu un kitta vandhu kadharuven kenjuven nu ninaichiyaa? ayyo paavam ippadi aayiduche...sari... unakku en mela Karthik mela thaane pazhi vaangara ennam... enga appaavukku yen daa courier anuppine? naan onnum unnoda kooda poranthavalukko unnoda pondaattikko intha nilamai vanthaa enna pannuve nnu kekka maatten... nee enakku senja maathiriye naalaikku oruthan un ponnukku senju unakku courier anuppinaa eppadi irukkum nu yosichu paaru... adukkaaga naan unnai summa vida poradhillai... naan anubavicha torture ku unakku kandippaa parisu undu..."
She removes her sandal and bang...
she bashes him left and right continuously and collapses on the floor crying...
Karthik, Lakshmi run towards Raji ...
Kaushik doesn't seem to have felt ashamed...
He was still gazing Raji...
Karthik holds Raji and makes her sit on the chair, Vishnu gives her water.
Karthik wipes her tears and makes her drink the water.
Lakshmi goes to kaushik and says"unnai ellaam aambalainnu sollikkaadhe... nee manushane kidaiyaadhu... nalla paambu... ippavum nee varundhara maathiri theriyalai... ippo unakku kudukka poradhellaam oru thandanaiye kidaiyaadhu... naalaikku unna pathi therinjikittu un ponnu unnai appaa nnu sollave asinga paduvaa paaru... adhu dhaan unakkaana unmayaana thandanai... adhukku kaathuttu iru..."
Kaushik grins looking at her..
Lakshmi all of a sudden slaps hardly and warns him... "ennadaa moraikkare? naan Raji illai...Lakshmi... jaagrathai..."
Mahesh signs the inspector.
The inspector covers Kaushik's face and takes him away...
Mahesh: Raji ... are u Ok?
Raji: (wipes her face) yes sir...
Mahesh: Be brave... ithai kanavaa nenachu maranthidunga nnu naan sollamaatten... idhai Life solli kudutha paadamaa nenachikittu munnukku ponga... all the best...
Viswanathan: we'll take your leave daa...
Mahesh: yes... i'm always there for you..
Both of them hug each other.
All of them say thanks to Mahesh and come out of his office.
Viswanathan: Karthik... such a hard task it was... if u feel exhausted take leave tomorrow...or get back to work... see you in the Office... Take care...
Karthik: yes sir...
Viswanathan leaves...
Raji's mobile rings and all five of them look at each other...
