Ohk!!! Enough with the question marks and the wilderment looks that is right now on your faces... it's just that, the streak is really addictive and I got addictive to it while I was researching for this very Special countdown post for 2013.

One of the major trends of 2013 has been Mythological and Historical Shows. And as we did promise you a bite into everything that made the television screen entertaining throughout the year, here a very - very Special Telly Trend.

  • Mythological Shows:

There Quantity might just be a handful but they surely do have quality audiences... in fact this year is witnessing one of the most lavishly made television show, Mahabharat.

The pungent marketing strategy has made sure that the news about the show is spread faster than a smell... we knew all about the elaborate sets, intricate costumes and awesome animation.

But all Mytho series are not the same.. Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev, keeps a low profile in jazzy things but still maintains one of the highest Trp's. In fact due the popularity of Ganesha's character in the show, Katha Mahadev Putra Baal Ganesh Ki was Specially launched while the festival Ganesh Chaturthi. Well the makers of our Mythological serial surely know when the iron is super hot and how to strike it for perfection.

  • Historical shows:

One of the most important aspects of these shows is the characterization, specially the central character. The moment such show starts the central character grabs the attention and takes the show ahead on his/her shoulder.

It has still not changed the Maharana Pratap of Maharana Pratap is especially appreciated for his acting at that age, in fact there are historic facts in our television industry that if the show is working well they delay the growing up of the central character as much as they can. Looks like we still follow history in our historical shows

While the actors of Jodha Akbar, were not that lucky... they were accepted by the audiences in their particular roles with quite difficulty. But now that they have braced themselves with the love of the audiences, the show is getting its fair share of attention.

The makers of Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev are now venturing into this genre as well by introducing The Adventures of Hatim, the show is set to be premiered on 28th December... thus we know one thing for sure, that this telly trend is leaping into new year... well how does it shaped up over the year is question of waiting and watching.

Whether they feature as a Telly Trend next year or in any other titled post... one thing that will certainly remain unique about these show is the language that have been used. One could easily learn and retain Hindi and Urdu while enjoying these shows.

Most importantly, the makers have to quite a detailed research to make these shows... Understand facts and fiction to develop the Story, Sets, Circumstances, Costumes, Looks, Characters etc... and they do it to perfection for a flawless story telling.

We wish them all the very best for the New Year... hope they continue to entertain, enlighten us. For right now we bid adieu to prepare and bring tomorrow post of our countdown... See you guys tomorrow, till then Keep Watching, Keep Enjoying and Keep Reading!!! And yup don't forget to send across your Views, Reviews, Suggestions and Remarks.

So Hatim and Buddha are HISTORICAL shows and yet Mahabharat and Devon ke Dev are MYTHOLOGICAL?

I hate these journalists. Why must they refer to our puranic history as Mythology? 😡
