CHAPTER 7: Dil Todana Hi Tha Toh Lagaya Kyun?

Khushi: A..aap?

Khushi head started spinning and she froze at the spot. Because the person who was sitting on the Boss seat and welcoming her was her Prince, whom she dreamt of for past 8 years.

Arnav: Haan.. Mmm... mai.

Saying he stood up from his chair and came towards Khushi. Khushi started moving back matching his steps till her back hit the wall and caged. Now Arnav thought that its good that he asked HP to send the head designer as soon as she comes.

Arnav: So you are the head designer?

Khushi: Ji.

Arnav: from now, you will be working directly under me. You will be Head of Designs department who will also be my personal assistant.

Khushi:JI?

Arnav: Ji kea age bhi kuch bolo.

Say something more than Ji.

Khushi: ji. I mean, why this sudden...

Arnav: See, Khushi. Let me make it clear. I don't like to be questioned. Do as I say. Follow my instructions. Am I clear? Any doubts?

Khushi: ...

Arnav: why are you quiet? I asked you can ask me your doubts.

Khushi: hadh hai. one time you say one time that you don't like to be questioned and now you are saying that you can ASK any doubt. But SIR, doubts are also questions.

Arnav was awed.

Arnav(thought): aww? This girl whom I thought to be quiet composed turned out to be such a bold girl. Looks like I will have good entertainment here.

Arnav: ok Khushi, you can ask doubts.

Khushi: I am a designer, Why are you making me your secretary?

Arnav: Ahh. Good question. The old secretary of old boss has resigned her job. You know that. So I need a new secretary. I am new in this office and appointing someone new now will increase my headache. So I thought it would be better to have someone from the office. When I asked HP, he said that you are hard working and working her for quiet a long time that you know almost all the employees and the working system.

Khushi: fine. My first job?

Arnav: ask HP to make a new file of employees with their pics and you will upload it in my computer and give me a hard copy of it. If this was done earlier, I would have recognized you.

Khushi: then?

Arnav: Then what? Why did you run away that day when I asked you to wait?

Khushi: Wait for what? To spend a night with you?

Arnav: Khushi?

Khushi: Then what Mr. Raizada? That is what you wanted right? to have a night stand with me.

Arnav: I dint mean like that...

Khushi: Then what do you mean by your place or my place? You wanted me to cook jalebis?

Arnav had to control his bubbling laughter. How can this girl think about Jalebi's even in between this heated conversation?

Arnav: Khushi listen to me.

Khushi: Listen my foot.

Arnav: Who is the boss here?

Khushi snapped her head to look at him

Khushi: y.. you.

Arnav: So listen to me. Do you know what I went through all these 5 days? You came like a lightening streak and disappeared like a lightening. Do you know I was waiting for you for almost an hour. And for past 4 days I have been like Mad trying to figure out who are you. You really made fool out of me Khushi. Why did you disappear like that? I want my damn answers now.

Arnav held her shoulders and yelled.

Khushi flinched a bit but composed herself.

Khushi: I think I am your staff. Not your w.. I mean I am not answerable to you something personal. It was you who asked for a night. Not me Mr. Raizada. So if you now let me, I can do the job for which you will be giving me salary.

Arnav's grip on her loosened a bit seeing her feisty Avatar and Khushi utilized her chance and went out of the cabin to HP to get the job done which she was asked to.

She then went to her cabin and fell on her chair. She took her mobile and started FM. To her luck her favorite singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's song was being played and to her bad luck the song was fitting her situation perfectly.

Ek kanch ki haan gudiya thi Pathar ke dil se pyaar tha..!!
Tuti woh iss tarha se ke hathoun mein na iqtiyaar tha..!!
Dil wahan dhundta hai jahan pay hum ne wade liye..!!
Sajde jahan pay the kiye mein tanha huun aaj bhi wahan..!!

A tear rolled down her cheek. Suddenly Arnav's behavior a few minutes ago came to her mind. The way he held her and shouted at her.

Khushi: Huh! He is not my prince. My prince held me like holding a rose petal. So soft. But this man. Huh! Laad governor. Raakshas. He is not my prince. He is Khadus Laad governor. My Boss. She made faces and started drawing his face like monkey, demon, dinosaur and what not.

Arnav came on rounds when he saw and turned to Khushi's cabin. He saw her frowning and seeing something on her table. When he went close, he saw her holding a sketch book and frowning at it.

Arnav opened her cabin door and leaned on the wall enjoying her expressions. Sometime she bit the pencil back, sometimes she blew the strands of her hair falling on her face disturbing her, sometimes she pouted looking at her sketches. At one stage, she got irritated so much that she took a pen from her holder and slid it on her hair locking the falling strands.

Arnav chuckled seeing his clumsy princess. PRINCESS?

He went near her and removed the pen releasing her hair. He himself tucked it. Khushi looked up at his eyes and their eyes locked. She drowned in the caramel orbs while he was searching himself in the depth of the doe like hazel brown obs.

Arnav caressed her forehead removing her frowns and rested his hand cupping her cheek. They kept looking at each other for god knows how long. A shrill ring of Khushi's mobile broke their trance. Khushi saw her father calling and went near window leaving Arnav where he was.

Khushi: Haan I am fine.

...

Khushi: Yes I will take medicines properly. Yeah I wont forget. Bye love you too.

Arnav flinched hearing those three words. Though his heart beat raced hearing about her health, his mind got stuck with the last three words.

Arnav: Ms. Gupta, Do you know you are not suppose to attend personal calls at office hours.

Khushi fumed thinking his boss authoritative tone.

Khushi: I know more than you about this office. Hmm.. its your own words Mr. Raizada. Thought as employee I am answerable to you, I am more answerable to my Bauji and Amma and my family as a daughter. I hope you know the decency of not interfering in personal matters. So can you please say me the need for your arrival?

Arnav's nose started blowing fire. His eyes were Red with rage, jaws clenched and palms fisted. But he calmed down and his business mind came with an idea.

Arnav: Khushi, you will be working from my cabin here after.

Khushi: WHAT? Why?

she was shocked more than anything. Working with Laad governor her former prince in same Cabin. HEY DEVI MAIYYA!

Arnav: you see, as u r my personal assistant, I will be needing many information from you. For that I cannot be coming across everyone in the office from my cabin all the way to your cabin. So its better you settle down in my cabin. There will be a partition and other necessaries arranged by tomorrow.

Saying Arnav went out without waiting for her answer. By now Khushi was like fire blowing dragon.

Khushi(thought): Rakshas laad governor. Huh! Authority audacity. Hell with it.

But in her fuming sessions she missed to notice some of her sketches missing.

Arnav was sitting in his cabin all smiling.

Arnav: Khushi Kumari Gupta. Welcome to Arnav Singh Raizada.

He smirked dangerously.
