With the revamp of Channel V's brand identity as V Correct Hai, the two teen shows Sadda Haq and Paanch, aim at addressing some serious teen issues staring society. Harshita Gaur of Sadda Haq and Sheetal of Paanch speak withSangeeta Yadav about their role

ON YOUR SHOWS

Harshita Gaur: Sadda Haq is all about Sanyukta's dream to study engineering, a field very few women venture into. Hailing from a conservative Marwari family, her father believes that girls are should get married and be housewives. Her father has a car factory and since childhood, she has been into creating innovative machines. But when Sanyukta gets selected in one of the top engineering colleges, her father and brother shout at her, throw her books in trash and break all her creations. But this doesn't break her confidence and she decides to go against all odds and follow her dreams, facing all hurdles and making her way to success.

Sheetal: Paanch-5 Wrongs Make a Right is a story of Roshni who wants to take the revenge from the five students who are responsible for her elder sister's (labelled as a loose character) death due to ragging " it was termed as suicide. She takes admission in the same college and plots against them.

REAL LIFE CONNECTION WITH THE ROLE

Harshita Gaur: I studied engineering and communication technology. In my class, there were to be only two girls and the rests were boys. They used to bully us a lot and had the same mentality that engineering is not meant for girls. So, I can relate to Sanyukta. Like her, I also didn't have any godfather and with sheer confidence and courage, I have carved a niche for myself. I was always into performing arts be it dance, music and drama. Both my parents are doctors. They wanted me to have a strong education background before I pursued acting " my passion.

Sheetal: Roshni (the character in the serial) and I are both 18. Courage, patience and confidence are the three things that we share. We both are on a journey that starts away from home with an objective to achieve something in life. Roshni lied to her father that she is going to New York for her studies, takes admission in her late sister's college to make things right " get justice for her sister's death. I, too, am on a mission away from home " to establish myself as an actor and work independently. I started my career as an airhostess with Kingfisher Airline but quit my job to live my dream. I never got a chance to go to a regular college. I am doing my graduation from distance learning. Through Paanch..., I'm living the college life that I missed out on.

ON CHANNEL'S NEW CONCEPT

Harshita Gaur: Channel V's new show not only aims to entertain and educate the youth but also their parents about the old issues that have been there from a long time and urges them to change with the time for the betterment of the family. Sadda Haq aims to do the same by showcasing the story of millions of girls who want to make a career in male dominated sectors. In today's time, there is no field where girls can't be a part of. People can relate to the three new shows on the channel.

Sheetal: You'll find an element of thrill and reality in Paanch... Youth has always been the target audience and the show aims to address the issues like ragging which is one of the top teen crimes today
